@Vlocken64@Ch1canerous Yoko Taro famously remarked that "any game that centers on slaughtering hundreds in war shouldn't deserve a happy ending." He designed Drakengard to deliberately make the player feel terrible and to punish them for indulging in the slaughter.
@dusty_smokey@baroquerational@aretheygay Its not really important to what I'm sayiny but I will say that while I see where you're coming from, there is something significant different about how the elements categorized compared to how sex is.
@dusty_smokey@baroquerational@aretheygay The elements are categories we constructed but I wouldn't call them social categories. Regardless we don't categorize things for just the sake of categorizing things. We use categories for purposes and if we decide that sex doesn't serve us we don't need to maintain it.
@baroquerational@aretheygay I also think that we should not dismiss the struggle of trans people just because these categories are fluid and don't exist necessarily.
@baroquerational@aretheygay Maybe to help clarify my position regarding this. I agree that all deviations from male and female being their own class would not really be classifying things anymore but that this would also be a fine state of affairs.
@NikkyHaru117@stendhalist I don't take woland's post as totally literal because I think it would be impossible to rebel against something that is a necessary truth of reality. This would also apply to budhism if it is true.
@NikkyHaru117@stendhalist Oh I see what you're getting at. I don't have an enormous understanding of Buddhism but my understanding is that the Buddha is a source of authority in a different way. That he is a teacher not a ruler and he doesn't uphold any of the objectionable things we might find in budhism
@NikkyHaru117@stendhalist Sorry, I'm not quite clear yet. What does privilege mean here, and is the philosophy denying that the external world exists or that there are objective facts about the things that exist?
@NikkyHaru117@stendhalist When you say oppose a fundamental nature to things, do you mean oppose essentialism or something more like what Wittgenstein talked about where there is an external world but our description doesn't get at the thing itself?
@NikkyHaru117@stendhalist You didn't ask me in particular but, I think Buddhism has some harmful ideas about eliminating desire and abandoning the world but more fundamentally I think it is usually intellectually harmful to believe things without good reason so we should reject any supernatural claims
