@gonefishin1948 The point of the Gospel is that all fall short of the glory of God. Being a good person doesn’t get you to heaven, following Christ and accepting his forgiveness when we fall short is what gets you to heaven. Not to say that everyone who doesn’t follow Christ is a bad person.

@teakaycee @sola_chad Catholics don’t believe the faithful are dead. Jesus promises very specifically, several times, that you won’t die, Matthew 22:32 for example. Catholics believe that they are alive in heaven, instead of here on earth like you and me. Closer to God and more easily heard.

Jesus was resurrected 3 days later. Those who accept him as your Lord and Savior, are born again and given eternal life. That’s the Gospel.
