Today's ruling by the IOC means a welcome return to fair sport for women and girls, but I'll never forget the scandal of Paris 2024, when people who consider themselves supremely virtuous and progressive publicly cheered on men punching women.

And the same supremely virtuous progressives who cheered men punching women in Paris are the ones lighting candles for Ayatollah Khamenei, waving Iranian flags on the Embankment and telling us that opposing the Iranian regime is Islamophobia.

This is the regime they cheer on. It hangs women from cranes for removing their hijab. It imprisons teenage girls for dancing. It executes women for the crime of being raped. It has murdered thousands of its own female citizens for demanding the most basic freedoms that Western progressives claim to champion. Mahsa Amini was beaten to death by the morality police for a strand of hair showing beneath her headscarf. She was twenty two years old.

The same people who cannot tolerate a biological male being removed from women's sport have no difficulty tolerating a theocratic regime that treats women as property, denies them education, forces them into marriage as children and kills them for dissent. The cognitive dissonance is not accidental. It is the logical endpoint of an ideology that has decided Western civilisation and its values are the enemy, and that anyone who opposes the West is therefore an ally, regardless of what they do to women and girls.

They are not on the right side of history. They are on the wrong side of basic decency. And the women of Iran, who have been fighting and dying for the freedoms these progressives take for granted and then sneer at, deserve better than to be abandoned by the movement that claims to speak for them.

🚨 Hit-and-run involving a school crossing guard

Yesterday around 8:20 a.m., a crossing guard was struck near Cedarview Rd & Kennevale Dr and taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The driver fled the scene. We are looking for a dark-coloured Ford F-150.
