@RobinRawas I feel the same way. I thought the messages were helped to be expressed through the way the lighting and angels were shot. I think it enhanced the tension. #MEDIA180SP1D08
One scene that stood out to me was when everyone was smashing things and yelling over eachother in the pizza place and the sounds really communicated how overwhelming and high stress the situation was. It felt like I was actually there with them. #MEDIA180SP1D08
The soundtrack and audio effects of the film Do The Right Thing (1989) was used extremely effectively to reflect the music actually being listened to in urban areas (Public Enemy, Take 6, etc) while also providing an enormous amount emotion to the film.

@MWeiul You make a good argument when it comes to the target demographic for Shein and Temu, they tend to create items similar to high end items but at a much lower quality and price point. This is absolutely marketed towards young people because of the accessible nature of the price.
This advertisement is targeted towards busy individuals/house holds who have a pet cat in the house. The ad explains how the product works to free up time by removing the need for splitter scooping and explains that the device is designed in a way that will fit #MEDIA180SP1D08
companies selling our data to advertisers. This does go as far back as targeting soap ads during the time when most house wives were watching television in the 50s #MEDIA180SP1D08
in any house stylishly. I would say the target audience are adults as children are not in need of a product like this. As we discussed in lecture, targeted advertising on platforms like Youtube (which is where I saw this ad) have taken over recently due to online #MEDIA180SP1D08
@Q7557738790635 I disagree, I think cable and ease of access to a larger quantity of media has actually created space for many new communities to form based on shared enjoyment or interest in a topic. Plus with being able to save content with a DVR, more people can relate over the same content.
@TunwinTeya I completely agree, I do not think that targeting specific shows to demographics of people
that will enjoy them affects community. Adversely I think it creates larger communities through ease of access.
the ease of access provided by cable as well as the internet allows people to connect for ur tally through reddit or twitter and share their love for these shows on a greater scale than would have been possible previously
#MEDIA180SP1D08 I do not think that cable has disrupted our sense of community. I think there is the same potential for sharing experiences over media that is broadcasted through forms made possible by cable as there was for when TV shows had to be watched while they aired.
Cable only allows for a wider audience to share in conversations about the shows being aired. I believe that cable is more conducive. Another reason for this is that yes, even though people used to get together more frequently to watch TV shows in groups,

@ShanesLife3 While I agree that protecting children is important, I think that responsibility falls on parents ensuring that their children are using the internet safely. I don’t think the rest of the population should have their communication censored because children should be protected.
@m4nderz I agree, I think that barrier to access is extremely
important in this case. I also see a ton of merit in the argument that the internet provides a level of connection that television could obviously never provide. Also think the internet can help people with disabilities
The FCC should not regulate the internet in the way it regulates tv because the mediums are different. Television is mostly for entertainment and the Internet provides more potential for education. Users of the internet are prousers which alters regulatory needs. #MEDIA180SP1D08
