India doesnot just copy Pakistani music and dramas, it copies the identity of the people behind them,Sanam Saeed gets nominated at an international award ceremony and suddenly she is " South Asian actress", on Indian social media, her Pakistani nationality just quickly disappears.
This is pattern not accident, over a hundred documented songs lifted across six decades, drama storylines repackaged for Indian networks, ancient cities on Pakistani soil are often rebranded as "Indian heritage ", the selective use of South Asia only ever applies to talent that is not Indian and only ever comes from one side of the border .
Pakistan calls Afghan celebrities Afghan, Indian actors Indians but when it comes to Pakistan they suddenly become "South Asian ".

This was actually a great policy introduced by the PTI. Helped in regularisation, recognized that people willing to pay for brands were doing consumption behaviour and helped stop smuggling. There is no need for cheap iPhones in Pakistan - phone functions have standardized in smartphones and real differentiation is not that high. Someone with wants for a new high end iPhone or galaxy ultra should be paying this tax. This PTA tax helped incentivize local assembly creating jobs and expertise.
The speech by Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Babar Sidhu offers a rare public articulation of how future conflicts may no longer remain confined to conventional domains. What stands out is not just the emphasis on airpower, but the integration of cyber operations, electronic warfare, unmanned systems, long-range precision capabilities, and information dominance into a single operational framework. This reflects the growing reality that future crises in South Asia will unfold simultaneously across physical, digital, cognitive, and narrative spaces.
For scholars of deterrence and strategic stability, this matters deeply.
The May 2025 crisis reinforced an important lesson: emerging and disruptive technologies are compressing decision-making timelines while amplifying uncertainty, misperception, and escalation risks between nuclear-armed rivals. Claims surrounding cyber disruption, AI-enabled surveillance, offensive drone campaigns, and network-centric warfare indicate that the character of conflict in South Asia is rapidly evolving beyond traditional understandings of deterrence.
At the same time, the speech repeatedly underscores calibrated restraint and controlled escalation. That dimension deserves equal attention. In nuclearized environments, the difference between signaling, coercion, and uncontrolled escalation can become dangerously thin. The challenge for policymakers moving forward is not simply technological adaptation, but ensuring that strategic maturity evolves alongside technological capability.
As we reflect on one year since the May 2025 crisis, the region must ask harder questions:
-How do we prevent emerging technologies from eroding crisis stability?
-How do states communicate intent in highly digitized battle environments?
-And how do we ensure that narrative warfare does not become as destabilizing as kinetic warfare itself?
The future of deterrence in South Asia may well depend on how these questions are addressed.
Sultan Khan beat the world's best chess players in their own cities, served them dinner in their own homes, and Pakistan forgot him for sixty years.

Barkha I’ll tell you with an example why the world doesn’t take India’s allegations seriously:
After the Samjhauta Express bombing in 2007 which killed 68 people, India immediately blamed ISI without an evidence. However, at the first Indo-Pak meeting of the Joint Terror…
Pakistan's efforts at mediation are commendable. but here's my warning: keep it facilitative; don't become a directive mediator. understand Zartman's and Tuoval's "mediation dilemma". if you push the issue, Iran might think you are trying to control the agenda on US' behalf>
This desert in Pakistan was once a river valley. Four thousand years ago people built civilisations here that were among the most advanced on earth. Every single major Indus Valley site sits on Pakistani soil. Mohenjo-daro. Harappa. Mehrgarh. Taxila. Pakistan's birth certificate, written four thousand years before the country had a name. Great work by @TDCPOfficial
Sir, Power crises was exacerbated 10x in 2013-17 when 6000MW of CPEC IPPs and $30Bn of debt was approved by energy, planning & finance ministers. Debt we cannot pay, for energy we do not need. So, you should also ask for accountability of:
🔴Ahsan Iqbal: Planning Minister (2013 - 17)
🔴Ishaq Dar: Finance Minister (2013 - 17)
🔴 Khawaja Asif: Power Minister (2013 - 17)
