International Day of Play - The work of the child is play
ActionAid Association recognize the right of the child to rest and leisure, to engage in play and recreational activities appropriate to the age of the child and to participate freely in cultural life and the arts.” Article 31 (1), United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child.
Play is not a luxury or a distraction from learning. It is how children develop confidence, creativity, friendships, and essential life skills. Yet millions of children are denied safe spaces and time to play because of poverty, conflict, child labour, discrimination, and displacement.
Let us build a world where every child has the right to learn, laugh, dream, and play.
