We have decided to establish Bharat Jodo Yuva Sanghas to nurture a spirit of service and leadership qualities among young people. Each Sangha will receive an annual grant of ₹10 lakh.

Shri Rahul Gandhi undertook the Bharat Jodo Yatra, covering more than 3,000 km from Kanyakumari to Kashmir, to carry the message of India’s diverse culture and history to the country’s youth. In our manifesto, we had promised a special programme to commemorate the Yatra. The Chief Minister has now reviewed the proposal and approved it after discussions.

The scheme will be implemented through the Department of Youth Empowerment and Sports, with support from the Rural Development and Panchayat Raj, Urban Development, Revenue and Education Departments. Guidelines have been issued to form local-level Sanghas in every Gram Panchayat.

Each Sangha will have 100 to 250 members and will organise sports and cultural activities while creating awareness among young people about the importance of national occasions such as Independence Day and Republic Day.

We have decided to provide ₹10 lakh annually to every Sangha. There is nothing wrong even if up to ₹1,000 crore is spent on empowering our youth. The proposal was discussed extensively in the Cabinet under the leadership of the Chief Minister.

Detailed guidelines have also been issued on membership, eligibility and ensuring representation for all communities. Sanghas will be formed across the state within 15 to 20 days, or within a maximum of one month, and all necessary measures will be taken to ensure their effective functioning.

On the Bidadi Township project, everyone has the right to express their views legally, submit representations and stage peaceful protests. However, if anyone resorts to unlawful protests due to political instigation or pressure, action will be taken according to the law.

The government will explain why the Bidadi Township project is necessary, why land is required and how the interests of local residents will be protected.

The delay in Cabinet expansion will not create any difficulty for the Legislative Session beginning in August. Around 20 positions remain to be filled, and discussions are underway at the party high-command level. Shri Rahul Gandhi has returned from his foreign visit, and the necessary decisions are likely to be taken in the coming days.

𝐉𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐋𝐨𝐤𝐮𝐫’𝐬 𝐄𝐱𝐩𝐥𝐨𝐬𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐕𝐞𝐫𝐝𝐢𝐜𝐭:
This is a Serious Mistake. The Government should either Apologize or immediately clarify that it was an error.

𝐖𝐡𝐲 𝐢𝐭’𝐬 𝐋𝐞𝐠𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐖𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐠:

• 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐏𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐬 𝐀𝐜𝐭, 𝟏𝟗𝟔𝟕 repeatedly and deliberately distinguishes between “passports” and “travel documents”. They are not the same thing.

• A Passport is not just permission to travel. When the Republic puts its seal on it, it is formally vouching to the world that the holder is one of its own citizens/nationals.

• Section 20 of the same Act (which allows Passports for non-citizens only in rare public interest cases) actually proves the rule — Passports are meant for citizens.

𝐑𝐞𝐚𝐥 𝐃𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐉𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐋𝐨𝐤𝐮𝐫 𝐇𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐞𝐝
• Foreign embassies could start demanding other proof of Citizenship before issuing Visas. This will create massive chaos for ordinary Indian Travellers and the Diaspora.

• If a Passport is “𝐣𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐚 𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐯𝐞𝐥 𝐝𝐨𝐜𝐮𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭”, what happens to diplomatic and official passports issued to the Prime Minister, Chief Justice of India, Ministers, and Ambassadors? Does Their Diplomatic Immunity Suddenly Become Questionable?

• 𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐚 𝐡𝐚𝐬 𝐧𝐨 𝐬𝐞𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐂𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐳𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩 𝐂𝐞𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐞. The passport has always been the Primary (and often only) Document proving Indian Citizenship. Weakening its status leaves Citizens Vulnerable.

This is not a Minor Incident — rather, it is a Dangerous Step that Blurs the very question of Proof Of Citizenship.
And this timing has been deliberately chosen at a moment when, through SIR, the process of deleting the Names of lakhs of Voters from the Electoral Rolls is underway across various States.
