I don’t see how this goes well for OS. We’ve got grown adults stomping their feet, demanding a handout and threatening to cancel them if they are unhappy.
As if a one time handout is going to convert people to loyal users. Only future for OS is to make V2 a superior product and ignore the beggars.
@HollanderAdam Same in any business. Loyalty is earned. It cannot be bought…..
And the customers who are “for sale”, they can always be purchased whenever you want them.
I really hope @opensea has a well-thought-out strategy for this rewards platform. For years, users have been vocal, criticizing and trashing OS over a perceived entitlement to an airdrop because [redacted]. With expectations running high and lessons from the past to consider, it’s hard to see how they’ll deliver a solution that satisfies everyone.
$ETH appears to be the safest, and perhaps the most obvious, catch-up trade on the menu right now. Timeline is starting to flip. Memecoin markets getting oversaturated with new token supply. Feels directionally correct, but who knows on timing.
I was told Solana is beating Ethereum in every metric so I decided to compare metrics:
Total Value Locked:
Ethereum: $75.825B ✅✅✅✅✅
Solana: $10.376B
Protocols:
Ethereum: 3714 ✅✅✅✅✅
Solana: 181
Active Addresses:
Ethereum: 2.04m
Solana: 6.49m ✅✅✅
Fees 24h:
Ethereum: $6.32m ✅
Solana: $11.26m
Stablecoin MC:
Ethereum: $97b ✅✅✅✅✅
Solana: $4.5b
Revenue 24h:
Ethereum: $4.79m
Solana: $5.63m ✅
Volume 24h:
Ethereum: $2.8b
Solana: $6.8b ✅✅
Inflows 24h:
Ethereum: $77.82m ✅✅✅✅✅
Solana: $2.45m
Market Cap:
Ethereum: $365b ✅✅✅
Solana: $110b
RWAs:
Ethereum: $2.98b ✅✅✅✅✅
Solana: $134m
... Idk man, one of these two chains seems to be more clearly dominating the metrics to me.
The numbers make sense given their narratives. Solana is the home of the shitcoin casino (i.e. volume) while Ethereum is where people trust to store absolutely massive amounts of value.
$SOL memecoin PVP battles are reaching a crescendo.
Whispers of fatigue swirl around in the air this morning.
Kings will rise, and the fallen will regroup, ready to seek out their next quest.
@yo_luchador Great thread. I agree with the thoughts regarding Meridians. Seems to be the most broadly and immediately appealing to those I’ve shared my collection with.
@dcinvestor Perhaps going off on a tangent here. But how do you think about collecting with an artist focus vs diversification? Balancing the connection to specific artists work vs rationally allocating to other artists in order to construct a balanced collection? Thanks!
