Per Transfermarkt valuations MLS is basically the equivalent of the domestic leagues in Belgium, Turkey or Holland. Which are not bad leagues BTW. But hard to imagine there isn't a market for something a little more ambitious.
@shipwreckedcrew I would guess that out of 10 matches with Belgium: 1 win in 90 minutes, 2 ties in 90 minutes, 7 losses. Not great odds to advance but not a joke either.
@JuanG_Arango I don't know about "Americans". It is just one guy. And it is difficult to say that PKs are an ideal way to decide a match of this import.
@DBGyt_@McguaneGary315 It's locked in to a point. But if TV ratings don't deliver for advertisers, the advertisers get rebates. The networks won't renew a deal for a crap product. WNBA lost my interest.
@UrbanExplorer00@ianmSC Iran received extra scrutiny coming across the border. But they didn't fly in the day of the game and play. See link https://t.co/EwGzwS4iyz. NBA T teams do this all the time.
@MahdiBaladi@urbvrevce The competition is designed to make money. A lot of money. Real problems with the format FIFA chose. In the end a worthy champion will be crowned.
@ianmSC The choice of MetLife will be fine IF there are no transportation screw ups on the day of the World Cup final. Lincoln Financial has better transport and Philadelphia on the 250th birthday would be nice. But it might end up ok.
@ianmSC Apparently for good global TV times, a stadium in the Eastern Time Zone was much preferred. So that leaves Atlanta, Boston, Philadelphia, Miami, maybe Baltimore. I think Philadelphia was the best bet, but it's NYC. Agree that MetLife is suboptimal.
@CrashDavis8 Possibly but the perception has set in with me that the league is a joke. Joke players, joke management . I doubt I will watch more WNBA. Not worth my time.
