If Florida wants to make it safer to bicycle it should narrow car lanes, lower speed limits and widen bike routes. The Netherlands recently lowered the speed limit in towns to 30km per hour (about 20 miles per hour). Florida needs to send officials to see how road design is done.
The rail network in the Netherlands allows you to use your US debit card to travel throughout the country. Trains run to almost every town and they run frequently. What a great place to travel.
In Amsterdam a bus arrives every 10 minutes to whisk you where you need to go. It's a pity Florida has no reliable, frequent bus service, thereby essentially forcing working people to spend their money on a car.
@imPascalNajadi Our country was built on openness and competition. Shutting out foreigners only isolates us and impedes our ability to grow and prosper. This is terrible policy and appears to be built on hate, not academic excellence.
The "soft power" of the United States has been hugely damaged by current policies. This list is long and the result is a diminishment of US power and prestige in the world.
@unusual_whales And the good news is we have an administration that cut oil consumption more than Obama and Biden did together with their so-called environmental policies. Thank you guys!
We have the most environmentally friendly president in history who has single handedly cut oil consumption by 20% worldwide. Biden couldn't have done it better and Trump will make all his base so proud of him for getting them to sell their gas guzzling pickups for Corollas!
I fly a Cessna 172 and my I-pad has ADS-B-In. A commercial pilot on an ILS getting ready to land at a busy airport like DC is concentrating on the flight path. Even with the ADS-B, it is dangerous to have a helicopter crossing your path at 200 feet AGL-Ban such military activity!
The Fed needs to retract its stance that 2% inflation is acceptable. Once prices go up, they never go down and inflation is way over 2%. How about raising rates and letting inflation go to zero for two years to make up for the last three years of 3% to 6% higher inflation?
@AVindman Again, sir, give us specifics. What will you propose cutting in the budget? How will your lower prices? General talk is not policy, it's posturing.
@MichaelAArouet In Fla. I pay 12 cents a kilowatt whereas my friend in the Netherlands pays 31 cents a kilowatt. There is an elasticity of demand for electricity and this may explain part of the answer to your question.
@AVindman Mr vindman, you want to win the election? Give us some substance on how you, vs Moody would cut the Federal budget. Focus on what is causing inflation and people will listen to you.
@RandPaul I am all for Rand Paul but on this issue he is wrong. The lifeblood of America is immigration and birthright citizenship. This is especially true since the avg woman have under 2 children, dooming out future.
In Texas 1.1 million of 38 million voted in the Republican US Senate primary. In Fla, a state with 15 million less population, over 1.3 million voted in 2024 for a similar primary. Texans may be making a statement about the system.
