My last day in Canada. Super to meet Jennifer of @ramblers_oc to talk all things Orienteering before doing a Montreal MapRun. Thanks Ramblers and see you again!
The Sprint event of the Canadian Orienteering Championships 2023 made it to CBC Montreal News. With a special appearance of the forever amazing John and Gloria Charlow at the end!

@razmichael1 I think he reversed that already. Can’t find it on twitter support anymore. Regardless, good move 😃. Just worried that only a minority will follow.
Thanks to Accro O Sport and @ramblers_oc for a fun Eastern Canadian Orienteering Championships this past weekend! If you want to compare your route choices to others check out https://t.co/EpxT1zQnWK for RouteGadget instructions and links to all 3 events.
Race 3 of 3 Long Course complete @ Eastern Canadian Orienteering Champs. Few usable trails & the “runnable” forest (white on the map) was treacherous in many parts with deadfall & rocks. Made one bigger stupid mistake (& normal bunch of small ones) but did get a silver in M65.
Another fun but wet day @ Eastern Canadian Orienteering Champs. Luke again “ran up” to M21 Elite class & earned a Bronze. Since only Eastern Canadian Clubs are eligible I also got a bronze - but certainly not 3rd in the M65 class. Long Event tomorrow.
@FoobieMcbletch @OrienteeringCAN But MapRun F is has its problem for a competition, but ou can substitute the phone with a gps watch. iOrienteering works fine, but you need a good belt for fast access. And a smaller pone is for sure better.
@FoobieMcbletch @OrienteeringCAN Well @OrienteeringCAN revised their guidelines, it's now ok to use an SI system, but they recommend bringing hand sanitizer on the course. With the Ramblers, it was partly convience to run the races that way this fall. It's much less work then setting up an SI system.
Orienteering is being severely restricted in the new Gatineau Park Master Plan. See our position at https://t.co/7xjqw7k6fg and share you thoughts on this shortsighted plan at https://t.co/aGJEiebpWp
HIGH ACHIEVERS: Stay-Safe Edition
Time is running out for the National Capital Region orienteering community to voice its opinion about having the sport severely restricted inside Gatineau Park by losing almost all of its prime race courses. @OttawaOC@OrienteeringCAN@NCC_CCN
"We went from obsessing about surface contamination to fretting about ventilation (...) we’re way safer outdoors than indoors" @picardonhealth on what we learned in the last six months. Let's go orienteering! @OrienteeringCAN@OttawaOC https://t.co/qREFynV4KN
