Spoke to US Secretary of State Marco Rubio this evening. I reiterated India’s strong protest at the attacks by the US Navy in the Gulf that killed three Indian mariners. Such lethal actions against commercial shipping are not justified.

The Modi government @narendramodi has repeatedly failed to protect the lives of Indians who are working as sailors and operating in international waters. This is the very first duty of the Indian government. It is sad and distressing that the prime minister has time for celebrations but not for condemning the US military for killing Indians.
24 Indian Sailors Rescued After Oil Tanker Struck Near Oman Amid Rising Gulf Tensions
An oil tanker carrying 24 Indian crew members caught fire after reportedly being struck and disabled in the Gulf of Oman on Monday. All 24 Indian seafarers were safely evacuated in a swift rescue operation coordinated by Omani authorities and Indian agencies.
The vessel, identified as MT Marivex, was reportedly not carrying any cargo at the time of the incident. According to official statements, the crew was airlifted to safety, and no casualties or injuries among the Indian sailors have been reported.
Indian authorities, including the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways, the Ministry of External Affairs, the Indian Navy, and Indian missions in the region, closely monitored the situation to ensure the safety of the crew.
The incident comes amid heightened tensions in the Gulf region. Reports indicate that a U.S. military aircraft struck and disabled the tanker, though details surrounding the operation and the vessel's activities remain under scrutiny.
Officials have confirmed that all Indian crew members are safe, while investigations continue into the circumstances that led to the fire and subsequent evacuation.
INDIAN NAVY RECOVERS AND SAFELY DISPOSES MISSILE WARHEAD FROM MERCHANT TANKER @indiannavy@dgshipping_IN@shipmin_india
The Indian Navy successfully completed a complex operation involving the recovery and safe disposal of an unexploded missile warhead from the crude oil tanker MT Olympic Life.
The Marshall Islands-flagged tanker, which did not have any Indian national onboard, was on passage from Fujairah, UAE, to Kochi reported an explosion in its hull, while off the coast of Oman on 26 May 2026.
The vessel reported the presence of an unexploded ordnance as it continued its transit towards Kochi.
On receipt of information through the Information Fusion Centre – Indian Ocean Region (IFC-IOR), the Indian Navy initiated a coordinated response. Kochi based Southern Naval Command deployed a specialist Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team for a detailed assessment. The team confirmed that a projectile had penetrated the vessel's hull, traversed multiple structural compartments and was lodged inside a fuel tank.
In view of the risks associated with the presence of an unexploded missile warhead inside a fuel storage compartment, the EOD team adopted a deliberate and phased approach to ensure the safety of the ship, its crew and surrounding port infrastructure.
After completion of prescribed safety procedures, the EOD team employed advanced diagnostic methods to identify and isolate the detonation mechanism before carrying out the safe extraction of the warhead along with the associated debris.
The recovered ordnance has been transported to a secure facility for safe stowage and detailed examination.
This carefully conducted highly risky operation, highlights the Indian Navy's proficiency in explosive ordnance disposal, technical expertise and effective inter-agency coordination in addressing complex maritime contingencies.
The Indian Navy's prompt response to an emergency at sea, irrespective of the nationality of the crew or the ownership of the vessel, reaffirms its role as a responsible maritime force dedicated to global maritime safety and a trusted and preferred security partner in the region.

Heartbreaking To See The Fellow Sailors @AdityaRajKaul
@angloeasterngrp Shipping Company has sent me a defamation notice for the second time earlier for ₹20 crore 65 lakh, and now for ₹10 crore. My only fault is that I raised my voice for Cadet Sarthak Mahapatra, Sanjay Chaudhary, Shivam Malik, and all those seafarers who are either dead or missing. Is speaking the truth a crime? Should a journalist be silenced just for asking questions? Should the pain of those families be ignored whose loved ones were lost at sea? Today it is Sarthak, Sanjay, and Shivam tomorrow it could be someone else. If writing the truth is a sin, I will commit this sin again and again. If raising my voice is a crime, I will continue to commit this crime without hesitation. But this fight is no longer just mine it is the fight of every seafarer, every family, and every person who stands for truth.
I appeal to all my colleagues, the maritime community, and justice-loving citizens please support this cause, amplify this voice, and come forward with moral and legal support if needed. Your one act of support can become a ray of hope for a grieving family seeking justice. a notice is not a threat for me, but an honor, because it proves that my pen is alive and writing the truth.
Jai Hind, Jai Bharat, Jai Navik.
