Shri Manas Ranjan Panda, Director, STPI-Bhubaneswar, chaired the session on “The Last Mile: Taking Odisha’s Startups Worldwide” at O-LEADS – Odisha: The Global Growth Hub, organised by ASSOCHAM.
Emphasising Odisha’s growing startup and technology ecosystem, Shri Panda highlighted the State’s journey from the IT revolution of the 1990s to an emerging hub for innovation, technology products and globally scalable enterprises.
Drawing lessons from successful Startups he underlined that global success does not always require breakthrough technology or massive initial investment; it requires identifying real problems, innovative business models, customer-centric solutions and the ability to scale.

He emphasised that the next phase of Odisha’s startup journey must go beyond incubation and funding to focus on global market access, intellectual property creation, technology products, international customers and sustainable business growth.
Highlighting the importance of a collaborative ecosystem, he called upon Government, industry, academia and investors to build stronger bridges between ideas and markets, research and industry, startups and capital, and Odisha and the world.
His message to aspiring entrepreneurs was clear: “Made in Odisha. Built for the World.”
The last mile—from a promising local idea to a globally competitive enterprise—begins with innovation, collaboration and the courage to think beyond boundaries.
