On behalf of the people of TN, we sincerely thank our Hon PM Thiru @narendramodi avl and our Hon Commerce Minister Thiru @PiyushGoyal avl for delivering a once-in-a-generation India–New Zealand Free Trade Agreement that strengthens India’s global trade standing.

This agreement gives Indian exporters 100% duty-free access to New Zealand across 8,284 products, and the goal is to double bilateral trade to about $5 billion in 5 years.

For India’s textile, leather, handloom, and engineering sectors, this means lower costs, better competitiveness, and more export orders.

The deal is especially valuable for TN because labour-intensive sectors like textiles and leather, which earlier faced tariffs, now get a major advantage in a premium market. It also opens up stronger opportunities for MSMEs, exporters, and skilled professionals from our state.
