There is no point in making noise on Twitter about Tax Audit Extension anymore.
This government is full of morons. They will do whatever they want.
You raised the issue of ethanol. What happened? Nothing.
You have been constantly speaking about UPI. What is happening? Nothing.
You have been constantly raising the issue of Tax Audit Extension. What is happening? Nothing.
They have already secured their vote bank by providing 5 kg of ration. You are nothing to them.
But please, vote for your religion next time.
Please vote for the same morons again.
Make India Stupid Again.
REQUEST FOR EXTENSION OF TAX AUDIT DEADLINE TO 31 OCTOBER 2026
Hon’ble Finance Minister @nsitharaman and Hon’ble Chairman, CBDT @IncomeTaxIndia
The widespread demand of Chartered Accountants for extension of the tax audit deadline from 30 September to 31 October deserves immediate consideration.
Chartered Accountants are indispensable partners of the Income Tax Department. Through statutory tax audits, they scrutinise and sanitise books of account, identify allowances, disallowances and statutory defaults, and report crucial information in Form 3CD—an exercise that would otherwise require substantial departmental resources to independently examine and decipher.
The demand is justified both by the collective representation of the profession and on merits.
Barely one month after the non-audit return-filing deadline is inadequate for the extensive verification, reconciliations and reporting required under tax audit. Rushed audits compromise accuracy, compliance and ultimately the interests of Revenue itself.
Kindly extend the tax audit deadline to 31 October 2026, with consequential extension of the return-filing deadline for audit cases.
For the future, compliance dates should be finalised after consultations with ICAI, other stakeholders and departmental officers, recognising the practical requirements of those undertaking the exercise.
The Department needs happy, willing and committed Chartered Accountants on its side—not a profession compelled to repeatedly seek extensions at the eleventh hour.
A relationship founded on consultation, mutual respect and cooperation will strengthen voluntary compliance, improve reporting and benefit Revenue.

🚨Extend Tax Audit due date today!!
Work started at 8 AM on this Sunday morning!!
One of the toughest audit seasons in many years.
ITR due dates were staggered to 31st July/31st August, perhaps to ease pressure on the IT infrastructure without thinking the impact on Auditors/tax payers with an unreasonably short window for completing tax audits.
Please listen to stakeholders and rationalise the due dates permanently. There should be at least a two month gap between the ITR due date and the Tax Audit due date.
For this year, the immediate need is clear :-
Extend Tax Audit due date today.

While bank employee going for strike demanding a 5-day work week whereas CAs have been working day & night to meet the TAR deadline. No extension yet despite of many representations.
Isn't it ironic, We're not asking for a holiday. We're asking to be heard.

🚨 WE ARE TRENDING—LET’S TAKE IT TO THE TOP!

Honestly, as a CA, I’m struggling to understand the reason for this rigid stand on the Tax Audit due date.
An extension won’t reduce tax collection.
It won’t hurt businesses.
It won’t weaken compliance.
So what exactly is the harm in giving professionals some breathing space?
Extension is not a concession. It is a practical solution to ensure quality compliance.
@FinMinIndia@IncomeTaxIndia please listen to the profession. 🙏

🚨 CA ARE NOT LABOUR! Stop treating professionals like 24/7 machines! 🚨
The latest advisory from @icai_india released on September 25th is a complete mockery of the profession. Telling members to "plan assignments well in advance" at the eleventh hour—right before the critical September 30th tax audit deadline—shows how completely disconnected the leadership is from ground reality.
Let’s look at the absolute banking gridlock created this week:Sept 26 (Saturday): Closed (4th Saturday)Sept 27 (Sunday): ClosedSept 28 - 30: Proposed Nationwide Bank StrikeWhile rumors circulate about an @RBI notification allowing public sector banks to operate on Sunday,
👉ICAI's Corporate Laws Committee (CLC) has missed the mark by issuing a generic, panic-inducing advisory that fails to clarify basic operational realities. By omitting the crucial fact that private sector banks remain fully operational during UFBU-led strikes, the committee has caused unnecessary alarm for practitioners rushing to meet critical September 30th deadlines. Members deserve precise, well-researched guidance from their leadership, not half-baked notices that lack basic industry context.
👉Instead of negotiating aggressively with the CBDT (@IncomeTaxIndia) for a logical and necessary tax audit due date extension, ICAI Central Council Members choose to issue tone-deaf corporate templates that shift 100% of the burden onto the shoulders of CAs.
We are professionals, not bonded labor forced to fix systemic infrastructure failures at midnight. Central Council members need to wake up, stop pleasing authorities, and actually stand up for the people who elected them! 😡💼

Retweet in lakhs to make the voices of CAs heard by the deaf and dumb CBDT.
Indian CAs in practice are requesting an extension of the tax audit due date for AY 2026-27, but the Union Finance Ministry has not responded, and the Income Tax Department remains silent. Will you support the CAs in this case?
