I go to a lot of sport. Write about a bit of it, complain about most of it. Press Association correspondent for Cambridge United, dabbling in BBC commentaries.
I’ve seen Cambridge United lose midweek at Hyde and Southport and Salisbury.
I’ve just seen them win at Newcastle, one of the greatest results in the history of the football club.
The FA Cup will always be important.
¡NOS VAMOS A ESPAÑA! 🇪🇸☀️
Cambridge United will face Preston North End on Friday 24 July during a warm-weather training camp ahead of the new season. 👊

Two obvious headlines here. Excellent news that United had an extension in Jake Eastwood’s contract, and James Brophy will surely do well for himself having been such a major part of the squad for five years.
The latest outstanding content from the @AbbeyStandPod guys is out now.
Promotion day chat is always fun, and you get to hear which absolute legend sent Julian this prediction for the season back in July.
It was me, but still listen anyway.

Cannot tell you how relieved I am to see Cambridge United promoted automatically and not have to deal with Grimsby away in the first leg of the playoffs. Partly because Grimsby are in great form, mostly because it’s on my wife’s birthday.
MATCH REPORT ✏️ U's 3-0 Barrow
And as ever (and hopefully for the last time this season) Coconut Tier members get to enjoy @ramsaymatt's brilliant write-up of the game👇

Neil Harris: "Today was sort of your warmup for next week, in a sense that today there was pressure on the game. We’d done behind Salford + we had to respond accordingly. I felt we had to win the game today. So there was pressure on the situation but you wouldn’t have known it."
Neil Harris: "All we’ve said to the players there is that you don’t get many opportunities like this in your career, to go into the last game of the season in a position like we are. So you have to enjoy it, but you don’t step backwards. You have to embrace it and move forward."
There'll be bags of nerves (in the away end at least) next week, but one to enjoy today. U's win big, deservedly, played well, Gibbons scored a real corker. If you'd started the season saying win on the last day + you'll be promoted you'd have taken it, that's the state of play.
U’s have been good, had all the chances, got the goal they deserved and should have more. We’ve seen this one before quite a lot of times. Need the second goal.
