[Francesca Albanese, UN Special Rapporteur oPt @FranceskAlbs]

What if, listening to this painful call, ALL those who say they care for Palestine, started to pay attention to:
-grocery/pharmaceuticals they buy
-insurance companies they use
-their banks
-their pension funds
-their work or research partners..
And chose an #ApartheidFree life

I actually don't think it's a good idea for Canada to respond to this trade war by mass murdering American children

[Heather McPherson @HMcPhersonNDP]

Strong words mean nothing without strong action. I have been calling for sanctions and suspension of trade for years now. Nothing Canada has said will change Netanyahu’s behaviour. Only collective action by states who are finished enabling genocide.

[Daniel Melhem @DanielMelhem]

Alors on l’a bombardée.

@Leila1H Not surprised. We love Dr Jarade @elias_jarade for his principles, compassion and humanity.

BREAKING (bones)
Why does "Bring Them Home" exist only for some hostages?
Because in Apartheid Israel, where only Jewish lives matter, brutalising the Palestinians isn't an anomaly - it is the system. And the silence around it is the exact measure of our collective hypocrisy.

[Randa Fares @RandaKaftoun]

@jamil_el_sayyed 100% shame.

[Francesca Albanese, UN Special Rapporteur oPt @FranceskAlbs]

Thank you President 🇸🇮.
Palestine is the moral compass of our time.
From Spain to Slovenia there is hope for Europe. A Europe that puts people above banks and markets, rights above profits, and respects int'l law regardless of political calculus.

[Rana Ayyub @RanaAyyub]

This is what an Emmy awards acceptance speech looks like. Kudos

Please see my statement on Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir, his flagrant disregard for human rights and international law, and the need for Canada to impose sanctions on the Netanyahu government that keeps in his position. Canada must back words with action.

[Heidi Matthews @Heidi__Matthews]

Flotilla participants are arriving at Istanbul airport. This is what Israel military and prison personnel did to them.

[sarah @sahouraxo]

Israel killed every single child in this photo in South Lebanon within less than 30 days.

They were not combatants.

They were children.

[Canadians for Justice and Peace in the Middle East @CJPME]

We welcome Prime Minister Carney’s condemnation of the “abominable treatment of civilians aboard the flotilla” and acknowledge Canada’s existing sanctions on Israeli Minister Ben-Gvir.

But one sanctioned minister does not equal accountability for this grotesque act of abuse against civilians. The illegal attack, kidnapping, and abuse of participants in this humanitarian mission was carried out by the Israeli military, not a single politician acting alone.

Canada must now move beyond these limited and insufficient measures, and impose broader sanctions against the Israeli regime, including the cancellation of the Canada-Israel Free Trade Agreement. The protection of Canadians and upholding of international law demands nothing less.

[Mark Carney @MarkJCarney]

The abominable treatment of civilians aboard the flotilla, including that which is documented in footage shared by Itamar Ben-Gvir, is unacceptable.

Canada’s Minister of Foreign Affairs has directed officials to summon the Israeli ambassador to demand assurances regarding the safety and security of Canadians involved.

Canada has already imposed strict sanctions on Mr. Ben-Gvir, including asset freezes and a travel ban, in response to his repeated incitement of violence. The protection of civilians and respect for human dignity must be upheld everywhere, at all times.

[Randa Fares @RandaKaftoun]

@hahussain @RicardoRKaram So now you know how an educated respectful response should be. And you did not need to add your view. It was VERY apparent from your initial instigating post. Ricardo you are a role model for AUBites.
