Gusts in Acadiana last week were on par with some notorious hurricanes! Did some research regarding notable the wind gusts officially reported at the Lafayette Airport last week...the gusts Monday and Thursday ranked with some of the worst hurricanes in the region!

These numbers compare with the LFT Airport only, gusts in other hurricanes were notable higher in the region, but not officially recorded at the airport!

Granted the hurricanes did a lot more damage mainly because of the time of exposure (especially Lili in Lafayette)...vs the quick, in and out systems last week! Considering the amount of Cat 3/4 storms that have skirted through the region, it's amazing that LFT has not reported higher gusts! #lucky #lawx
