Taking time to teach them about what they are feeling. Teaching them when they are calm that it is ok to feel angry or upset, but how they act in those moments is what is important. #bearsdeserveit

Allowing the student to process how they're feeling before talking about it. Ineffective: quickly assigning a consequence. I like to deal with the situation, keep authority in the classroom and move on. This year: giving students the time they need when upset.
