If nothing good ever happened in my life again, or if every horror and hardship from the sufferings of Job befell me, the LORD would still be worthy of my praise and devotion.

If upon some scale, a lifetime of pain and anguish and suffering were weighed against my sins being paid for in full by the blood of the lamb, the weight of the latter would make the former seem meaningless.

"A Christian can never complain," as Stonewall Jackson once wrote, and the Apostle Paul said in Romans, "I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us."

And while that gift is free to us, it came at the cost of His son dying an excruciating death on that old wooden cross.

"There's never been anything that's happened to you in your whole life, including this great tragedy and most painful experience, that could ever possibly justify being angry at God." says R.C. Sproul.

God does not owe us a life without pain and tragedy.

This is why I have devoted my life to seeking Him, and it's why I created the "Paid in Full" design to showcase my faith in Him across my chest.

The world is a dark and hurting place.

Truth is, I don't know why bad things happen.

But I do know that the Son of Man died on the cross, paying the price for all my sins, so that I might have eternal life.

And for now, that is enough.
