Oakland County Sheriff Michael Bouchard:
“If you think you can target the Jewish community in this county or anywhere in this state, you're wrong. We’re not only gonna stand in front of them to protect them — we’re coming for ya.”
HERO.
From the Editorial Board of the @globeandmail:
"The effort to make a peaceful life impossible for Jewish-Canadians is not limited to cowardly shooters in the dead of the night.
What, for instance, were three self-described “peace groups” taking aim at when they sought to decertify Jewish children’s sleepover camps across Canada this summer, for the stated reason that the camps support Israel in various ways? At the idea that Jewish-Canadians have a right to enjoy the most ordinary of pleasures, without being compelled to denounce Israel’s right to exist.
They didn’t shoot bullets, true. But they took aim at a Canada in which people, all people, can decide on their own identity, without fearing ostracism or disenfranchisement. Cloaked in human-rights language, their demands are a deprivation of basic human rights.
Or what about the masked and chanting protesters who waded last fall onto the side streets of a Jewish neighbourhood in Toronto, what were they taking aim at? At the freedom of Jewish-Canadians to go unencumbered about their days – and at Canada as a haven from international conflict, where people live peaceably with one another."

Al Quds Day has become an annual platform for antisemitic hate and extremist rhetoric. In today’s climate, this raises serious public safety concerns.
I call on the City to take the necessary steps - up to and including an injunction - to cancel the demonstration.
The acts of violence targeting Toronto's Jewish community are disturbing, and we are committed to supporting our members as they take the necessary steps to identify and locate those responsible.
Listen as @TPACampbell joins @gregbradyx to reinforce the professionalism of the @TorontoPolice while calling for all levels of government to develop a coordinated approach to delivering safe and effective emergency services.
Olivia Chow was a no show today at the news conference for the Toronto synagogue shootings
"If you have been watching this, you may have noticed that Mayor Olivia Chow not in attendance there to speak to the Jewish community and to Torontonians. Okay."
"We'll try to get an answer there" @MayorOliviaChow
@byzantineicon@CP24 And this is why we have a problem and why hate continues to fester in Toronto. Because things like this are actually believed and allowed to be put out there as if they are fact.
The greatest problem Toronto is going to have responding to this is overcoming the years of inaction before now, despite obvious and overt lawless acts and elements inside the broader Gaza protests.
Hardest thing to do is get something moving from a dead stop.
We chose this.
Toronto Police are investigating a firearm discharge overnight in the area of Bathurst St. and Glencairn Ave., where a synagogue was struck by gunfire. Thankfully, no injuries have been reported.
Anyone with information, video, or dash camera footage is asked to contact Toronto Police or Crime Stoppers anonymously.
Last night, two synagogues were targeted, in North York and Thornhill. These are disgusting acts of antisemitism, hate and intimidation.
Toronto Police are increasing their presence in the area to keep people safe. Police are dedicating considerable resources to tracking down the people responsible for these continued attacks by bringing the Integrated Gun & Gang Task Force and the Hate Crime Unit to support 33 Division on the investigation. Anyone with information or security footage should come forward to police immediately.
These attacks on Jewish institutions must stop and as Mayor I will continue to support the Toronto Police with whatever resources are needed to make this happen. Toronto’s Jewish community has the right to practice their faith without fear, intimidation or violence.
As we have seen repeatedly, antisemitic incidents increase in our city as international events unfold. I want to be clear: it is never acceptable to target Jewish community.

#BREAKING - Premier Ford tells the Wall Street Journal that Ontario will put a “25% export tax on electricity it sends to 1.5 million homes in Minnesota, Michigan and New York” “Ford added that he will direct the province’s energy producers to shut down the exports entirely if Trump moves ahead with even more tariffs on April 2.”
