.@Xbox I literally can not select the "deals" box on the store home page on console.
I did just find a way to get there through the side menu, though.
(I like to see my wishlist on the deals page, the standard wishlist is not a great implementation for viewing.)
It is more important to look at why Trump was allowed to run, after committing sedition and a number of other crimes to which he confessed, than why he was able to win.
A Different Kind of DEI?
Q. Hi Liz, are you a believer in DEI?
A. Yes, I believe in lifting up people who are underrepresented in any arena, and work is a critical one. What about you?
Q. I believe in natural DEI, not forced DEI.
A. What is natural DEI?
Q. It means letting things change naturally, organically, without forcing change.
A. Isn't that what we had in place from the earliest days of the Industrial Revolution until at least the 1960s? That didn't work. Women and every minority group are underrepresented in high-paying jobs not to mention management and executive leadership in particular.
Women and members of minority groups don't get VC investments or bank loans as easily as white men do. Don't you agree we should level the playing field, at least?
Q. But then people will be hurt.
A. Who?
Q. The people who have those jobs and get those venture capital investments and bank loans now.
A. It is not a zero-sum game. When women and members of minority groups get investment money, they build businesses that employ more people. There is a tremendous amount of evidence that lifting up women and members of minority groups is good for the economy and has huge social benefits, too.
Q. But I don't think diversity should be forced on businesses.
A. If that is true, then should we also tell businesses it's okay to pollute the air and water, sell food that's unsafe, abuse their customers and lie to shareholders?
Should there be any rules or standards for businesses at all, or should the standard be, "Do whatever you want"?
It used to be that way. There were no safety regulations at work, or food safety laws or protections for customers or employees. People died. Employers hired Pinkerton goons to kill their own employees.
Then our society said, "That's horrible. That's too much."
Unions formed, at great risk to their members, and we got the 40-hour work week, prohibitions on child labor and the minimum wage.
We cannot let businesses do whatever they want without causing great harm to working people, customers, shareholders and communities.
We already know how that story goes.
Do you think that we would gradually and "organically" have found our way to a minimum wage, much less a living wage, without legislation requiring it?
Look how desperately organizations fight any move to raise the dismally low minimum wage now.
Look how they fight to control their employees beyond the performance of their work - even requiring employees to return to their offices in the midst of flu, RSV and COVID outbreaks that put everyone at risk.
I don't believe in "natural" DEI, no, any more than I support "natural," unregulated food safety or airline regulations.
Everybody deserves a fair shot and right now, too many people don't have one.
Microsoft bought Activision Blizzard, promised no layoffs, and immediately laid off many people who still have been unable to find new jobs nearly a year later. They are struggling to stayed housed while the CEO is making more money than anyone needs to live.
Congressional Republicans think the way to lower costs is imposing a national sales tax averaging $4,000 per family and ending the ACA.
I have a better plan.
Let's actually lower costs by building homes, expanding drug cost caps, and cutting taxes for hardworking families.
@alexhillman Found this application for PA. It just says the cutoff for registration is 15 days prior to the election. So probably whenever your county office closes if submitting in person, or mailed or submitted online by that date.

@Fidelity advertised 0% expense ratio for index funds like $frbqx. What the summary didn't tell you is that these hold other funds that _do_ have management fees.
It's still low tho.

Bought a @TPLINK router, and it says Chrome is unsupported and won't let me log in. Works in Edge, though. 🤔
If I change the address to include "https://", and proceed to the unsafe page, it works in Chrome.
