I've created an NHL draft Google Sheet covering 2000 to 2024. The sheet can be used to filter and find different information, such as how many players from the 2023 draft have played at least 1 NHL game to date (9). Feel free to access and share https://t.co/tEW16lwqUC
@Jeffs_Penguins Just like Matthews...too many assets to acquire. Hope that other teams go nuts for Larkin, Thomas, Pettersson, and Trocheck...then let us position for younger guys like MacTavish.
@kelsey_surmacz4 Even if high stick or whatever that led them to initially call no goal, it also appears Murashov is bumped into and not given the ability to make a proper play on the puck. How that gets overturned as a goal is puzzling.
@engineers_feed I distinctly remember being in 6th grade in elementary school, about a year after the Challenger disaster, and NASA came to our school. When they asked the auditorium what NASA stood for, a 4th grader raised their hand and said Need Another Seven Astronauts. π¬
@Jeffs_Penguins We don't have the pieces to make those kinds of moves yet. Aside from Kindel, we still don't have any high end A prospects to offer up in trades. Getting there, but will take a few more years.
@Jeffs_Penguins Maybe it was to piss off Letang into retirement. "Kris, we just took away the only d-man that worked well with you" "Oh , and your new partner's name is Spinorama Sam"
@Jeffs_Penguins@_j_a_k_e_d Tough position. Signing Malkin does nothing to make this team a contender. They are done in that phase. But if they have no better option internally or on the UFA market, and Dubas isn't heavy on the trade market...not bringing him back is a bad look, especially for new owners.
@Jeffs_Penguins@rosemoczulski1 If there were tons of options in UFA, I could see Dubas wanting to go a different direction. Madden also made the case that Kindel and Chinakhov should be on PP1 and Malkin is blocking that. If Dubas doesn't sign him nor trade for some younger top 6 help....yikes!!!
If anyone wants to watch Wheeling or WBS in the playoffs, @FloHockey has a deal right now for $120 for a full year (9.99 a month billed annually) versus normal 39.99 a month ($480 for the year). Just signed up. You also get OHL, QMJHL, USHL, College, and a few others.
@_j_a_k_e_d I'm ok with a one year deal. Too much risk on anything more with his age and injury history. If Dubas doesn't bring him back, he'll need to make a big play for a top 6 center. Kindel isn't ready and Novak ain't it.
@jmarshfof Deserves to be in the goalie rotation next season. I'm ok with an average goalie that excels in the playoffs, and Silovs has now done it for Vancouver, Abbotsford, and Pittsburgh. Silovs and Murashov/Blomqvist should be interesting next season.
@kelsey_surmacz4 Outshot the Flyers 23-11 3rd period and OT. Penguins were getting the zone time and continued chances, while Flyers were mostly one and done. Penguins deserved better, but too many guys cold in the playoffs...Chinakhov, Mantha, Kindel and Karlsson.
@MarkMaddenX Penguins lost the momentum they had in the first period when all the penalties came in the 2nd. A suspicious 10 minute stoppage by the refs to sort out simple calls didn't help.
@kelsey_surmacz4 The high stick wasn't that hard...BUT....the play wasn't active. Crosby isn't expecting someone to hit him in the face with a stick at that point. It's unexpected more than embellishment. Can they look to see if it was under the visor? Was it near his eye? Very BS call.
