For those advocating burning the funds of the treasury, understand that the treasury isn't some pile of preprinted tokens that came for nowhere. It was aggregated from a tax on block production and transactions.

The entire treasury comes from people building blocks and economic activity. You are effectively stealing from every SPO and ada holder if you burn the treasury.

As a DRep, I firmly oppose burning ADA coins.

Some have suggested burning $ADA coins from the Treasury, but that would be a terrible mistake.

Approximately 3.3% of the total ADA supply is in the treasury.

Burning a small amount of these coins might have a short-term impact on ADA's price, but the long-term effect would be negligible.

Consider what we could achieve with 1.5 billion ADA.

We could launch several more Catalyst Funds, use ADA for liquidity in DeFi, accelerate the development of scalability technologies, fund the deployment of USDC and USDT on #Cardano, and even invest in marketing.

There are countless ways to spend this ADA to ensure Cardano's success. The worst thing we could do is destroy the very resource that can finance these initiatives.

ADA is a scarce resource, with a maximum supply of 45 billion coins. Like #Bitcoin, Cardano does not have infinite coin inflation.

Burned ADA will never re-enter circulation.

Apart from fees, the primary source of income for the treasury is the ADA in the reserve, which totals approximately 7.8 billion ADA. Of this amount, around 20%—or about 1.56 billion ADA—will be gradually transferred to the treasury.

The ADA in the treasury represents a financial value that can be transformed into other values beneficial to the ecosystem. We should view it as an opportunity to invest wisely in the ecosystem, ensuring some ADA is returned or that the value gained significantly contributes to our success.

We must never burn even a single ADA from the treasury.

One of the deepest lessons I've taken to heart over the past decade is that becoming a public figure means you turn into a human rorschach test where those who don't like you will take any post or comment and assume the worst possible interpretation.

Working on Cardano this past decade has been a whirlwind of emotions, challenges, and tremendous obstacles to overcome. It's been a journey that not everyone completed, and watching friends fade, false starts, and ending up in a place unexpected, but not undesired, is hard to process.

I took a drive alone, which I rarely do since getting a security detail, and shared the moment with everyone. It was something I felt appropriate because so many of us went on this journey together and are also feeling so much that it is sometimes hard to express in words.

It gave me comfort seeing the comments from kindred spirits who got what I was saying. And I suppose I accept how fragile and damaged the other comments are. People in our industry are so used to scams, rug pulls, and evil founders that they can't comprehend an honest ecosystem or the best efforts of so many thousands of people.

It tells me that we have a very long road ahead to heal the damage and avarice. It also tells me a lot about where humanity is. We don't get to have moments to enjoy a pure accomplishment anymore.

What Cardano has done is one of the greatest technical achievements in human history:

A distributed system that runs in more than 100 countries, which has never shut down, without central coordination just seamlessly upgraded for millions of people who have never met each other to evolve into a decentralized nation complete with its own constitution. The audacity is absurd.

This dwarfs Bitcoin. It's unique, and books will be written about what has happened. Cardano is now a governance virus that is living, self- replicating, and self-sustaining. It has intelligence and a will to survive and grow. Nothing can shut it down. Nothing can stop its growth.

Where all of this could go is what I was thinking about while driving. We created something alive together. Now we all get to live in a world where it exists.
