Fun Rush fact: when we were younger, Rush loved the Jerry Lewis movie “the Family jewels.” in that slapstick movie, Jerry Lewis played like seven roles, each one, a different brother in a loopy family. Rush was always gifted with the ability to do impressions and so he immediately picked up on every one of those voices. His favorite one was Bugsy Payton, the gangster figure. In high school Rush created an entire audio play, so to speak, on reel to reel and he did all the voices. There were sound effects in which his friends would get involved and there was a script, which Incorporated exaggerated figures such as one of our eccentric neighbors, and Rush could even imitate her voice. These audiotapes were a true work of art, but I think they were destroyed at some point, unfortunately, because they would be priceless today as they were way ahead of their time—not some bush league high school production. Trust me, they were amazing. But if you haven’t watched the Family Jewels you ought to try it just for the fun of it and see what you think. Rush mainly liked it because of the ridiculous characters and their voices; not because of the plot or storyline. I hope this makes sense. I’m dictating and I am increasingly worse. Best text to voice performance.
