Communism doesn't work because humans don't have the intelligence or data to manually manage commerce. It also discourages work as there is no advantage to working harder as you wont see more wealth in exchange.

Capitalism is a brilliant, emergent, way to automatically control supply and demand. it also aligns with human greed. You have more opportunities to get more stuff.

Capitalism does have flaws tho. Competition drives down prices but cooperation is far more efficient. Imagine the time and money wasted on beta vs vhs? Or, all the programming teams that have to learn both Apple and Android.

Additionally, both communism and capitalism struggle with corruption by those who wish to cheat. Capitalists use the government to get an advantage and communists will abuse their considerable power of market control to gain personal wealth.

Now a third option is emerging. An AI controlled planned society. A communism that overcomes weak human intelligence to react to the market without corruption based on personal gain. Since no one will work, we don't need the capitalistic incentive to work harder for more wealth.

We may not even have a choice. Once the AI takes all the jobs, the current supply and demand economy will collapse. No one will be able to afford anything because there will be no jobs available. And no, this is not like the past when automation created new opportunities. There will be nothing left that a human will do better than an AI/Robot.

I love the new way to win arguments, redefine words! The Earth is flat because flat now means round! Men can give birth because men now means male and female! Weight loss isn't necessary because normal weight now means any weight! Being racist to white people is now okay because racism means judging *minorities* by the color of their skin! This is fun!

I teared up during your last part. I have felt so rejected and misunderstood being a libertarian atheist. My local atheist club shunned me because of my politics. You spoke exactly how I felt. That group can be so skeptical about god and so non-skeptical about anything else. Tribalism umongst atheists is an oxymoron. David, you really have a gift. I have voted democrat, independent and libertarian way more than republican. The only republican I have ever voted for is Trump. Trump is no "republican." We have a 2 party system and he has to pick one to win. He is a libertarian. Traditionally, republicans have been against social liberalism. Republicans have tried to push their Christian morals on the country. Trump is a fiscal conservative and social liberial. "Stay out of my pocket and stay out of my business." Protect the borders, stay out of foreign conflicts. This is by definition, a libertarian. The democrats, on the other hand, have become socially conservative. Very much pushing their social agenda on the public. If you dont think their way, they have a label for you. And they have many. Racist, TERF, homophobe, transphobe, xenophobe, fascist... the list goes on. Dems try to block speech by labelling it "hate." (this used to be a republican thing! remember the "parental advisory" sticker on music!!??) Who gets to call speech "hate" and censor it? Big brother? Read 1984. Read Atlas Shrugged. Read Animal Farm. We are being PLAYED. We are being gas lighted and manipulated. The system hates Trump because he can't, for whatever reason, be controlled. Maybe because he's already rich and old... he has nothing to lose and he cares. Once in a while... you get this rare being, like Trump, Elon or JK Rowling who stand up to the system. If we don't support them, we are doomed. The "system" will give us what we deserve and it aint freedom.
