It's a shame no major film has been made about Biju Patnaik. He lived a life that sounds almost fictional:

In 1938, he flew his entire wedding procession by aircraft to Rawalpindi for his marriage to Gyanwati Sethi (who became the first Indian woman to hold a commercial pilot’s license, and the couple later flew daring missions together.)

While serving in the Royal Indian Air Force (including as head of Air Transport Command), he secretly ferried freedom fighters like Jayaprakash Narayan, Ram Manohar Lohia, and Aruna Asaf Ali to their hideouts. He also airdropped 'Quit India' leaflets to Indian troops while evacuating British families.

The British once jailed him for transporting nationalist leaders and distributing anti-British literature but also honored him for bravery in evacuating civilians from Japanese-occupied Burma.

During WWII, he flew daring missions delivering arms and supplies to Soviet forces in Stalingrad, and over the treacherous 'Hump' route to China in
support of Chinese Nationalist forces against the Japanese.

In July 1947, he and his wife flew a Dakota into Indonesia, landed on an improvised airstrip while evading Dutch anti-aircraft fire, rescued Prime Minister Sutan Sjahrir, refuelled using abandoned Japanese fuel, and flew him safely to India via Singapore.

A couple of months later, during the Pakistani invasion of Kashmir, he airlifted one of the first Indian troops into Srinagar.

The same year he founded Kalinga Airlines, one of India's earliest private airlines.

As Odisha CM post-1962 India-China war, he secretly visited CIA headquarters at Langley to forge a covert India-US partnership against China, which led to the Aviation Research Centre (ARC) at Charbatia, which supported U-2 recon missions over Tibet.

He was also a legendary administrator and statesman, laying much of the foundation of Odisha's industrial empire (mines, ports, heavy industries etc).

When he passed away, Indonesia observed 7 days of state mourning. Russia observed 1 day. He remains the only person in Indian history whose body was draped in the national flags of 3 nations - India, Indonesia, and Russia.

Few public figures have left such a footprint.

His extraordinary life needs to be brought to the big screen.

After the temple was closed, a small boy was seen playing inside the temple. The policeman who was on duty in the temple passed in front of him but the police did not see the boy. This was recorded on the CC TV in the temple. The boy was not found when the temple was opened. No one complained that their boy was missing!!

Devotees believe that this is the Leela of Swami in the form of a boy.

When 32-year-old Chamarajendra Wadiyar X, king of Mysore, fell ill and died, his son was still a minor. It was also the year when a severe epidemic of bubonic plague struck the city. This was when his wife, Maharani Kempa Nanjammani Vani Vilasa Sannidhana, took over as queen regent and ruled Mysore for eight memorable years.
During her rule Bangalore and Mysore saw great progress. The Shivanasamudra hydroelectric project, Asia's first, was commissioned, drinking water to Bengaluru was provided from Hesaraghatta Reservoir, the Rani started many schools for girls and 12000 girls got to study during her time, she lay great stress on pre and post-natal care for women and opened several hospitals and dispensaries.She also donated 372 acres of land to start the Indian institute of Science in Bengaluru.

Rani Vani Vilasa is remembered as a dynamic ruler who contributed greatly to the welfare of the people of Karnataka.

Andhra Pradesh mechanic builds homemade escalator to help wife climb stairs.

A 65-year-old mechanic, Satti Siva Narayana Reddy from Arthamuru village in East Godavari district, has designed and built a homemade escalator to help his wife, Satyaveni (58), climb the 21 steps leading to the first floor of their house.

He added that the idea had been planned two years ago but was completed recently.

Yasin Malik’s men didn’t stop at raping the 27-year-old Kashmiri Hindu nurse Sarla Bhatt. They then murdered her, engraved the acronym ‘JKLF’ on her body, and mutilated it out of sheer contempt for her Hindu identity. After that, they issued multiple warnings to her family against cremating her remains according to Hindu rituals. The family still went ahead with the cremation, defying the threats. When they went to collect her cremated remains (asthi) later, a mob of around 200 Islamists descended upon the crematorium and stomped over them.

They didn’t stop even at that. They then bombed her family home with a grenade.

Do you really think all 200 of those monsters who showed up at the crematorium were foreign infiltrators, Pakistani terrorists, or JKLF members? These are the questions that make many Kashmiri Muslims very uncomfortable. The moment you raise these issues, especially when they present a narrative portraying their community as victims, they label you an Islamophobe or resort to similar accusations.

I have seen all kinds of Islamists, but the tribe in Kashmir is the craftiest. Many of them pretend to be atheists in private, yet their public behaviour and political leanings tell a completely different story. Very hard to take their words at face value.
