It’s always this superior casteist mindset that turns discipline into humiliation when dealing with students from marginalised backgrounds.

Last year an IIT-B student caught cheating with a smartphone and smartwatch was allowed to finish the exam, given zero for the portions where he used the phone and asked to submit an apology and undertaking. The matter was handled privately.

Punishment never required humiliation. So why did discipline become an excuse for threats, public humiliation and character assassination in Sahil’s case?

Mobile phones are not allowed to be taken into or kept in the examination hall at IIT Bombay. So how did Sahil take a mobile phone inside? Students are allowed to enter only after being checked. 1) Who cheats while sitting on the first bench?

2) If Sahil Wakode was caught with a phone, why are other students seen keeping similar things on their benches? Use some logic.

3) If IIT Bombay has already apologized over the cheating angle, why are caste Hindus and Manu Media still shamefully attacking the character of a deceased student?

4) It appears to be a calculator or box, and similar items can be seen on other students' benches too. It's allowed in exams.

5) The matter is already under investigation. How dare you run a vicious hate campaign against a student who is dead and cannot even defend himself from your vulture-media trial?

This is how cruel and inhuman caste prejudice can become when even a dead student is denied dignity and turned into a target of a social-media hate campaign.

We stand with Sahil Wakode's family and will continue demanding a free and fair investigation, accountability and justice, and we will challenge every misleading claim and misinformation campaign being pushed against him. You can't silence us through your caste hatred or paid agenda.

IIT Bombay has deleted all its tweets regarding the case. Sahil Wakode’s death remains shrouded in questions, yet an extra-judicial media trial is already underway, with attempts to damage his reputation before the investigation is complete. That is deeply concerning.

We saw something similar during the Sushant Singh Rajput case, when the media trial put Rhea Chakraborty in the dock; courts later criticized the manner in which the media had conducted the trial.

Sahil’s case is still under investigation. Why the rush to defame a Dalit student instead of mourning his death and allowing the facts to emerge?

Imagine if the student had been a Brahmin, would the same media treatment have been considered acceptable ?
