Don’t say logic and rationalizing doesn’t do anything for anxiety, it’s precisely how the Lord addressed it. You won’t improve on His methodology. Address anxiety with truth.
The Folly of Worry
If your worry can’t produce the smallest change, why worry about any of the things?
Jesus: Which of you by worrying can add a cubit to his life span? Therefore, if you cannot do even a very little thing, why do you worry about other matters? (Luke 12:25-26)
The answer is because we believe our worry does some good. This means our worry is unbelief. We can do nothing apart from Christ. This relieves anxiety.
Don’t waste your summer! My boys had their first session learning to code with Arduino today and my daughter is settling in with her first knitting project.

Met a brother at the gym this morning who’s a deacon at a church in a town nearby. Identified him by his “1-1-6” tattoo. We talked, prayed, went on with our workouts. Encouragement in odd places.
When it seems our petitions are denied, we can confidently know that our prayers are answered far better than we can ask them by our Good Father though not always on the way we have asked them. He gives far greater than we plead.
Certain mornings begin at two am with VBS projects. This morning: a life size sheep made from 2×4s, bubble wrap, and pillow stuffing. Some assembly required.
I’m super proud of my kids. In the last few weeks they’ve placed at the state and regional levels for fine arts competitions in categories ranging from speech, acting, and art, to wood working. Yesterday they each were recognized with school awards for academics.
If you’ve taken your kids fishing recently and came home with something like this, know two things:
1) I hope you handled that well, it was worth the time with your kids
2) you probably prayed for patience recently, didn’t you?
I believe it is vital that all Christians have an essential awareness of God’s providence if they want to be fully prepared to cope with life’s adversity. - John MacArthur
