How does a weekend in England cost £700 when you can fly abroad for less?

A return train to London is £160.

The same house that rented for £600 is now £1,200.

A full tank of fuel is over £100.

Car insurance goes up 50% despite the same car, no claims and nothing changing.

£100 in the supermarket somehow gets you two bags of shopping.

And we're all just expected to accept this as normal?

I was watching a kid do every assignment on a Chromebook today, and it made me wonder if we’ve rushed to replace something that was never broken. Maybe this is an unpopular opinion, but schools should bring paper and pencil back as the default. There’s something about physically writing things down that helps it stick.
