I was sent out of Canada
Yes that’s why I came back home a few months ago
Yep, you read that right.
So I came into Canada with a spousal open work permit. And when it was about to expire, we applied for an extension.
And we were just about our business waiting for the extension to come out only for us to get a rejection mail. This came at a crucial time as there was a change of government and rapid immigration policy changes.
Omo, everywhere first blur. Premium tears everywhere
We did not see it coming at all. And I had a few days to leave the country ASAP.
My husband wanted to start running around seeing how to appeal the rejection without me leaving but I just told him “babe let’s leave it. I’ll go.”
I was not sure what God was doing but I trusted Him. And so I came back to Nigeria.
I went about my Fathers business like nothing dey sup. Trusting the one who has called me.
Then the dots began to connect.
Then came Covabodi festival. You know how that went to the glory of God
Then came brand ambassadorial roles.
If I tell you the other things God helped me achieve in this trip ehn, you’ll open your mouth in wonder.
Like, I began to understand that Canada did not send me away. God brought me back to carry out specific assignments.
One morning we woke up and I got a email.
“Congratulations Deborah, you’re now a permanent resident of Canada”
Yup. You’re looking at the latest Canadian permanent resident.
When I flew into Canada last week, I bounced in there like a madam.
I’m sharing this testimony to let you know that you need to trust God completely with your life.
You see that scripture that says all things work together for good? I need you to believe it with everything inside of you
Your wedding plans scattered? It’s working for your good
They served you breakfast? It’s working for your good
You did not get that opportunity? It’s working for your good.
Be pro-active, play your part, send in the application, do all that you should do and leave the rest to God
You may not see what God is doing in the moment, but as long as you’re faithfully serving and following God, just trust Him.
The dots will connect
And you will look and say “oh, Father so this is what you had in mind.”
Celebrate with me jare. God don run am🥳🥳
PS: Peep my resident card🥰
Blessings!
Let me brag about God with this story. 🙏🏿
Sometime in 2004, I was half-awake, meditating, when I heard a voice:
“Go and tell Cornelius Tay that the whole office must praise Me.”
Mr. Cornelius Tay was our MD/CEO.
Immediately, I said in my heart, “Never! Emi, ke? Me? 🤷🏿♂️”
At the time, the company was facing a serious financial crisis. There was little or no patronage for both the advertising agency and the water engineering company. As a result, salaries were not being paid.
When I got to the office, I shared the message with Foluso, who was close to the MD at the time.
“Hmmnn, Nduka, you want to lose your job.”
That one increased my fear. 😂
Then I told another colleague who was a pastor. He simply asked me:
“Who will you fear—God or man?”
With that, I summoned courage.
Mr. Tay and his wife came into the office around 9:00 a.m. I waited about five minutes for them to settle, then knocked on his door.
He ushered me in.
“Good morning, sir. God sent me to you.”
Immediately, his wife was startled. She held her husband and said, “Close the door.”
Then she told me something that shocked me.
They had been praying that morning, and God had told them that someone would come and tell them what they should do.
So they asked me, “What did God say we should do?”
I replied, “God said we should just praise Him. Raise our voices and praise Him.”
“So how do we do it?”
I said, “I will tell Pastor to handle it.”
We came out into the open office. Mr. Tay clapped his hands to get everyone’s attention. We prayed and praised God together.
Afterwards, everyone simply went back to their seats.
Around 2:00 p.m., we received a call from Ngozi at African Petroleum (AP):
Our cheque for ₦48 million was ready! The money they owed us for several months.
As we were still rejoicing, the water engineering company also received a contract from the Water Corporation at Ijora.
Two breakthroughs. Same day.
That was how God intervened in the financial crisis of the company.
And to think that when I first heard the instruction, I said:
“Emi, keh? Never!” 😂
So, yes, let me brag about my God:
He is good. He speaks. He provides. He makes a way where there seems to be no way.
PRAISE THE LORD! 🙏🏿❤️

@Row_Haastrup@winexviv More blessings to Mr Alex 🙏
I'm proud of you and what you have accomplished in the Southeastern education sector.
Keep up the good work, sir and even take it higher and higher by God's grace. 🙏
@mshale58@BishopBarron The Pope condemns all acts of genocide anywhere. The church stands on the sanctity of human life. No one should take a life when you can't create one. God allows his rain and sun to fall and shine on both the good and the "evil" people.
But, criminals should pay for their crimes
Sweden is committing more than €100 million to a sweeping classroom overhaul: replacing tablets and screens with traditional printed textbooks to help reverse falling student performance and sharpen focus.
After more than a decade of embracing digital-first education, Swedish authorities are now pivoting back to paper-based learning. Official data and recent studies cited by the Ministry of Education show that prolonged screen use in class has been linked to shorter attention spans, weaker reading comprehension, and reduced critical-thinking abilities.
Research consistently finds that reading on illuminated screens requires greater mental effort and invites more distractions compared to the calm, linear experience of physical books—factors believed to have contributed to declining academic outcomes in recent years.
Under the new plan, every student will receive printed textbooks for all core subjects, restoring books as the central learning tool. Digital devices and online resources will remain available as supportive tools, but they will no longer dominate daily instruction.
This bold €100+ million investment signals Sweden’s leadership in rethinking the role of technology in education. It underscores a broader, growing recognition worldwide: while screens provide speed and access, the hands-on, distraction-free engagement of physical books supports deeper concentration, stronger memory retention, and more effective long-term learning.
By choosing paper over pixels, Sweden is charting a path toward a more balanced, evidence-informed classroom future—one that puts proven pedagogical principles ahead of unchecked digital trends.
In case the situation is unclear to Ghanaians, your president has just publicly signalled that he is stepping into Kwame Nkrumah's shoes.
The usual suspects will not be happy, and the Ghanaian people will be the first targets. You will start witnessing strange events aimed at making him unpopular, just like with Nkrumah.
Strange high profile accidents. Arson attacks. Public infrastructure sabotage. Fake news campaigns. Maybe even a terror attack.
Nothing is off the table for the DGSE-CIA-MI6-Mossad operators who attended the Accra Reset and sat there furiously taking notes and squeezing their faces as he vowed to stop export of raw materials from Ghana by 2030.
This is not a drill.
@FinPlanKaluAja1 Thank you for continuously sharing knowledge.
Now this advice is for the younger ones.
What would you advise the middle aged? Those in their 40s and 50s.
Sometimes in October 2007. Around 8:00pm.
I was at home with my two babies taken care by sister in-law, my wife' friend, Thomas, and Yinka. My wife had gone to work. She was a nurse on night duty.
We were in the sitting room. Thomas was playing with my new first laptop.
Unaware that eternity was about to brush past my life.
Suddenly, an unusual urge to pray came over me.
Not a normal thought.
Not a casual reminder.
A strong, unexplainable pull.
I had never felt anything like it before.
I excused myself from the sitting room and went into the children room's to pray.
About five minutes later, I heard raised voices.
An argument.
I wondered, Who is Yinka arguing with?
Before I could process it, the leader of the gang shouted and demanded to see the owner of the house.
At that moment, I understood: God had moved me out of harm’s way.
I hid behind the door.
One of them entered the room carying a shakabula, a locally made dane gun.
My heart almost stopped.
He bent down, picked my phone from the bed, and scanned the room.
Then the shouting intensified.
They began to manhandle Yinka in the sitting room. He seems to be arguing with them.
They were armed robbers.
I could no longer hide.
I surrendered myself.
They pointed the gun at me.
“Where is the gold? Where is the money? I will shoot you.”
Another group dragged in the landlady and her boyfriend.
We were beaten.
Humiliated.
Terrified.
They ransacked every wardrobe, took valuables, and left nothing untouched. My first laptop, gone too.
Finally, they locked all of us inside the bedroom.
That night passed, but the trauma did not leave with them.
Even after we moved to a new house, the fear followed me.
At night, I would wake up repeatedly to check the doors.
Even on the third floor.
Even when there was no logical reason. The trauma was there till I relocated.
But with time, understanding came.
That strange urge to pray was not random.
It was divine intervention.
A whisper from God saying, “Come aside. Let Me shield you.”
I may not understand all that happened that night,
but I know this:
👉 Prayer saved me before danger announced itself.
👉 God speaks before the storm arrives.
👉 Obedience, even when it doesn’t make sense, can be the difference between life and death.
Some traumas fade slowly,
but testimonies last forever.
And till today, I know,
I am alive because heaven intervened. 🙏🏾.
