Clarification concerning a voicenote of mine from 2021 that is being circulated.
It has come to my attention that there is a voicenote of mine being circulated concerning individuals speaking against Abu Iyaadh. This occurred in 2021 way before the issue developed into what it has become.
Firstly it should be known:
1. This audio was in relation to that which was being mentioned concerning some of the early writings of Abu Iyaadh regarding covid related issues, and that those writings were being used to claim that Abu Iyaadh was intending the rulers with his speech. I did not believe at the time that was the case (i.e. that he intended the rulers) and so I expressed that in that audio.
2. We advised in private that much could be misunderstood from his writings and he consequently put out a clarification concerning his intent. That was the end of that chapter. The voicenote does not relate to anything that transpired after that.
3. As for that which followed this, and continues to manifest, of ill speech concerning Ahlul Ilm wal Fadl (from them Shaikh Abdullah Al Bukhāri and Shaikh Arafāt Al Muhammadi) and the ongoing support and promotion of those who actively do so, then I DO NOT agree with any of it. No-one would have foreseen that the issue would have developed into what it has become, nor that there would be anyone in support of this.

In times of crisis, returning to scholars is an obligation. Ignoring their fatwas and promoting personal opinions under the guise of scholarship is dangerous misguidance. Truth lies with the consensus of scholars, not isolated voices.
⚠️ Grand Mufti Abdul Aziz Al as-Sheikh (rahimahullah) said:It is not permissible to speak ill of the authorities for instituting what they believe are efforts needed to prevent the spread of diseases.Instead, what is due to them is to be praised [for that] and supplicated for.The rulers of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia are vigilant over matters of benefit for the Muslims and repelling harm from them.May Allah reward them with the best reward.Their way of doing things continues to include consultation with the people of knowledge in matters that arise,in order to know the [correct]legislative ruling.( Click the link: https://t.co/HCKKKi9tM1 )
⚠️ Grand Mufti Al-Allamah Salih al-Fawzan (hafidhahullah) said: Physical closeness between the Muslims during these days, as what is legislated is distancing for health concerns. This is from what Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, has made obligatory – Taking necessary steps for safety, following precautionary health protocols, and taking the advice of doctors. All of these matters are from what Allah, the Exalted and Most High, has made obligatory upon the Muslims, in order to maintain good health, for them and their brothers, and also in order to take beneficial steps to preserve safety. 🚨 Shaykh Al-Allaamah Abdullah Al-Bukhari (hafidhahullah) Said : Moreover, it has even occurred at some times and in some lands that they speak ill of the people of knowledge, understanding, and investigation. Sharing and amplifying the Scholars' speech at that time may have brought greater benefit and clarity to the Salafees. Revisiting Shaykh Fawzan’s (hafidhahullah) advice on Guidance in Speech and Silence now ( Click the link : https://t.co/eBNwcoKNGh ), years after trials unfolded and what occurred of splitting and division, appears less timely than the urgency of that period. May Allah reward Ustadh @1MMeducation with goodness (جزاه الله خيرًا) and grant him steadfastness for sharing the scholars’ guidance at that time and for standing firm despite the attacks he faced for publishing them.
The tremendous virtue and vast knowledge of al-Allāmah Sheikh Abdullāh al-Bukharī حفظه الله is known amongst the scholars of Sunnah, and the people of Sunnah across the globe.
His standing is recognised by great scholars, past and present, including the great imāms: Sheikh ʿUbayd al-Jābarī رحمه الله and Sheikh Rabīʿ al-Madkhalī رحمه الله.
It is well known that Sheikh Rabīʿ al-Madkhalī رحمه الله said about him: “he is from the best of the people of Sunnah, and from those who constantly defend it as far as I know. The majority of those who fight against him are from the people of desires… he is one of the most knowledgeable of the Salafi methodology”.
The commendations for the Sheikh are well-known and widespread.
Below is the well-known widespread and clear advice of our Sheikh, the Imām, ʿUbayd al-Jābarī رحمه الله shortly before he passed away, guided and encouraged us to benefit from Sheikh Abdullāh al-Bukharī and Sheikh Arafāt al-Muhammadī حفظهما الله:
https://t.co/eXBEVmsYbV
We ask Allāh to preserve them upon the truth, and continue to make them both an immense benefit for the people of Sunnah.
Anyone who has claims, unresolved grievances or reservations regarding our Sheikh, a scholar from the people of Sunnah, should present them to him and the scholars. This is the path of the sincere seeker of truth, those truly seeking to unite the hearts of the people of Sunnah.
As for those who freely unleash their tongues or pens against the scholars, the people of virtue and knowledge, attempting to reduce their status, then their claims and statements are not given consideration.

Before the COVID-19 pandemic, Allāh granted me and my companion Hanif bin Sirajuddin – Graduate of Islamic University of Madinah - blessing of visiting Imām Rabīʿ bin Hādī al-Madkhalī (May Allāh forgive him, have mercy upon him, elevate his rank, accept his deeds, and grant him al-Firdaws al-Aʿlā).
Fearing for myself from fitnah, I asked the Shaykh:
❝ O Shaykh, may Allāh protect you, if we are alive after your passing, to whom should we return? ❞
He answered -raḥimahullāhu taʿālā- :
❝To Abdullah al-Bukhari and Arafat❞ (may Allah keep them firm upon the truth)

My name is what my account handle is. I am a salafi al-Ḥamdu li-llah. I live in KSA and attend the scholars, by the grace of Allah. Akhi, may I ask you to identify yourself? At present, all that is visible is a centre account name, not an individual name.
As for the claim that my manner of speech shows a lack of respect toward our teachers, please clarify exactly where in my writing I was disrespectful to the teachers whom I addressed. The recognition and respect that our teachers have gained among the Muslims came, after Allah, through the scholars who taught and cultivated them. Is it not reasonable to hope that our teachers would also stand in defence of the honour of the scholars? Are Shaykh Abdullah al-Bukhari and Shaykh Arafat al-Muhammadi (may Allah preserve them) not teachers & scholars of the Sunnah who are deserving of honour? The Salafis have witnessed silence from our teachers for the past five years, beginning with the hurling of attacks and lies against Ustadh @1MMeducation (may Allah preserve him), during which scholars’ statements were misrepresented and scholars themselves were maligned. Does the issue of “respect” only arise when du‘at are asked to respond, but not when scholars are attacked?
Regarding your third point, I explicitly stated that if my understanding is incorrect, I am open to correction and ready to retract. Instead, what I have witnessed is the blocking (@anwarphilly@Abdulilah_UK)of accounts simply for asking teachers to respond and guide the people.
As Imam Ubayd (Rahimahullah) said:“What goodness remains in Ubayd if he does not defend the Salafis?”
He said this while mentioning his defence of Shaykh Abdullah al-Bukhari (may Allah preserve him).
He also said regarding those who have not taken any stance in this fitnah: “I ask Allah to show them the truth and to show them falsehood so that they may abandon it. As for those who bring doubts, then it is obligatory to warn against them, and they should be abandoned.” (https://t.co/BTZT1QKyb4)

There is nothing in the commendations they have given, whether for Shaykh ʿAbd Allāh al-Bukhārī or anyone else for that matter, which grants this special status of being returned to in these affairs.
There is nothing in the speech of either Shaykh Rabīʿ or Shaykh ʿUbayd in which they said that they have “inheritors” or “successors” in the field of al-Jarh wal-Taʿdīl and that there are only two people that should be returned to in these affairs after them, or in disputes and differences regarding daʿwah affairs. Nor did Shaykh Rabīʿ or any one else say that there is only one kabīr (senior) for all of the Salafīs in the entire world. It is impossible that Shaykh Rabīʿ would say and intend such a thing."
I ask again, when disputes arise, who do we return to?

▶️He accuses noble Shaykh Dr. Arafat al-Muḥammadi (may Allah preserve him) of being a liar.
Before this, he deliberately wrote to distance Salafis from noble Shaykh Al-Allaamah Abdullah al-Bukhari (May Allah Preserve him), beginning after Shaykh al-Bukhari's advice regarding the COVID matter.[https://t.co/mZBLNRgD8h]
Now Amjad Rafeeq seeks to manipulate the advice of two Imams Shaykh Rabi [https://t.co/nYh8WRKhOq] and Shaykh Ubayd [https://t.co/8UoxzBLEMl](Rahimahumallah), despite the fact that both of them advised that affairs be returned to Shaykh al-Bukhari.
He did not accept the fatwa of Mufti Abdul Aziz Aal Shaikh, nor the speech of al-Allamah Shaikh al-Fawzan, nor the advice of Shaykh Abdullah al-Bukhari. Instead, he manipulated their speech and advice to mislead the people, even though their statements clearly oppose his false claims. At the same time, he spreads the fatwas of Sufis [https://t.co/rN0gfeDTuN] and quotes from the books of unknown or deviant individuals[https://t.co/9x2Lj3hSnR], circulating them among the people. He even went so far as to argue that wearing a face mask is like a talisman, and that social distancing during the time of COVID falls under minor shirk.
All of these matters are directly related to our deen. When these issues are presented to scholars and they offer sincere advice, Amjad dismisses them by labeling them as not specialists, or even accusing them of lying, and so on. Yet the statements of Sufis, atheists, or anyone else supporting his views, suddenly become valuable and acceptable. In such cases, specialization is no longer required.
Despite all of this happening, you are pretending to be asleep.
O Duat of the West,
Since Amjad have accused the Salafis who offered him sincere advice to refer these matters to Shaykh Abdullah al-Bukhari and Shaykh Arafath of attempting to tie the dawah in Britain and other places only to these two shaykhs, are you prepared to present this matter in its entirety—everything that Amjad Rafeeq wrote regarding COVID—to the Mufti, al-Allamah al-Fawzan, may Allah preserve him?

Sharing images of book covers and offering general praise for Shaykh Abdullah al-Bukhari may appear supportive on the surface, but it does not address the ongoing attacks against him. Symbolic gestures are insufficient and cannot substitute for a clear and explicit stance when the matter requires one.
See what @AbuIyaadSP (May Allah guide him) wrote on January 7, 2026:
“........and not Shaykh al-Bukhārī and Dr. ʿArafāt al-Muḥammadi who have not demonstrated the competence and coherence of the senior scholars in such arenas, especially in light of recent events in Sudan and Yemen for which they have been critiqued.
In short, the article is addressing the clear attempt by certain directions to tie the daʿwah in Britain and other places only to Shaykh al-Bukhārī and Dr. ʿArafāt al-Muḥammadī, with their insistence (through open threats and intimidation) that our issues and disputes be taken back specifically to Shaykh al-Bukhārī, something which we never accepted 20 years ago, and do not accept today, with respect, in light of the speech of Shaykh Rabīʿ quoted at the beginning of the article.”

Bismillahi ar-Raḥmani ar-Raḥeem
Dear Duʿat of the West,
Assalamu Alaikkum Wa Rahmathullahi Wa Barakkathu
@AbuIyaadSP has now openly declared Shaykh Dr. Arafat al-Muhammadi to be a liar. Moreover, he has exposed what was already in his heart at the time when Imam Rabee and Imam Ubayd (rahimahumallah) were defending Shaykh Arafat.
Amjad Rafeeq himself stated:“I cautioned at the time that just because Muḥammad bin Hādī has messed up and deserves rebuke and criticism, it does not mean that ʿArafāt and company are clean. Hence, I never raised or promoted these individuals.”
Let him now explain who he meant by “ʿArafāt and company.” All of you know—at least those like @uwaysT and @Abdulilah_UK know very well—who were being targeted at that time. Were Shaykh Abdullah al-Bukhari and Shaykh Abdullah al-Dhufyri not among those targeted?
Now the matter has become clear: who has Abu Iyaḍ been targeting all along?
He had already begun his attacks against Shaykh Abdullah al-Bukhari even before the affair of Shaykh Arafat, and he spread falsehoods regarding Shaykh al-Bukhari’s response to the COVID issue.
This single example is sufficient to demonstrate his animosity toward Shaykh Abdullah al-Bukhari. Yet he lacks the courage and integrity to mention Shaykh's name openly.
After the advice given by Shaykh Abdullah al-Bukhari in Hafar al-Batin(25-04-1443H/30Nov2021), Amjad Rafeeq attacked him on several occasions. Yet some of you continue to defend Amjad, while many others among you remain silent regarding his attacks against the scholars.
Amjad Rafeeq wrote: “All we need to know is that we are not seeing the major scholars, such as Shaykh al-Fawzān, or the Mufti ‘Abd al-‘Azīz, or Shaykh ‘Abd al-Muḥsin, or Shaykh al-Luḥaydān (when he was alive), or others being offended or kicking up a fuss about anything. That’s because these scholars know and understand these are affairs of ijtihād, and in an event like this, there are different approaches between nations, their health authorities, and their specialists, especially in the matter of health, disease, and medical treatments. They did not try to silence people in other countries, nor did they declare them misguided, nor did they say that the policies in Saudi Arabia must be followed by Muslims in the West, nor did they say you are sinful for not taking the vaccine, nor did they say that doctors or specialists advising against the vaccine—because of knowledge and evidence that they have, wherever they might be in the world—are sinful and upon the way of ‘Amr bin ‘Ubayd al-Mu‘tazilī. None of this has come from the state-appointed and officially recognised scholarship, within the limits of my knowledge.”
My question to you, O Duʿat of the West, is this:
From his words the following points are understood:
1.Major scholars such as Shaykh Ṣāliḥ al-Fawzān, the Mufti Shaykh ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz, Shaykh ʿAbd al-Muḥsin al-ʿAbbād, and Shaykh Ṣāliḥ al-Luḥaydān know and understand that these are matters of ijtihād.
2.These scholars did not declare people sinful for refusing the vaccine, nor did they say that doctors or specialists advising against the vaccine are sinful or upon the way of ʿAmr ibn ʿUbayd al-Muʿtazilī.
3.None of this came from officially recognized, state-appointed scholarship.
I agree with the first point without any doubt. However, regarding the second point, who said that anyone advising against the vaccine are upon the way of Amr ibn Ubayd al-Muʿtazili?
No one said this. So why did Amjad Rafeeq write it?
The reason is clear, he seeks to misrepresent the advice of Shaykh Abdullah al-Bukhari on this issue, which was translated by Ustadh @1MMeducation. In the Shaykh’s answer, he never stated that doctors or specialists advising against the vaccine are upon the way of Amr ibn Ubayd al-Muʿtazili.
Rather, Shaykh Abdullah said: “Moreover, it has even occurred at some times and in some lands that they speak ill of the people of knowledge, understanding, and investigation. They have come together like this, resembling one another, following their desires, obeying their own greed, and listening to people without knowledge or understanding. They claim that the people of knowledge do not understand the situation, that they do not know, and that they only give verdicts based on what is said to them! What is the difference between you and ‘Amr ibn ‘Ubayd, the Muʿtazilee, when he said about Ibn Sireen and al-Hasan that they were scholars of [women’s menstrual] pads? What is the difference!? The issue went so far that they even began accusing anyone who wears this (i.e., a face mask), this precaution, that he has fallen into shirk! What is this transgression!? What is this transgression and this blunder being attributed to Allah and His religion?!”
(Complete question and answer at the link:
https://t.co/HLxekiAweV)
It is clear that the Shaykh was referring to those who claim that the people of knowledge do not understand the situation, that they do not know, and that they merely issue verdicts based on what they are told, the Shaykh likened them to Amr ibn Ubayd al-Muʿtazili.
Then, where did the Shaykh say that doctors or specialists advising against the vaccine are sinful? At the beginning of the same response, after outlining the Sharia and medical aspects of the issue, the Shaykh said: “Is the one who discourages [people from the vaccine] sinful? Yes, he is sinful. From one angle of Islamic legislation, he is sinful for rambling about things he does not know and speaking about what he has no knowledge of. From another angle, he is sinful for contradicting the Muslim authority which recommends and encourages that (taking the vaccine).”
Amjad Rafeeq deliberately mixed the two separate matters, i.e, the sin of discouraging the people from taking vaccine and those who belittle the scholars of not understanding the situation, to mislead the people regarding the words of Shaykh Abdullah al-Bukhari.
Will you now say that my understanding is incorrect?
The Shaykh’s words are clear: there is no difference between Amr ibn Ubayd al-Muʿtazili and the one who claims that the scholars do not understand the situation, do not know, and only issue verdicts based on what they are told.
Amjad Rafeeq described as a daʿee involved in da'wah for around thirty years (as stated by him) either failed to understand the Shaykh’s answer or deliberately sought to divert people away from a scholar who was recommeded by two Imams Shaykh Rabee and Shaykh Ubayd (Rahimahumallah), particularly Shaykh Ubayd, who advised SPUBS during one his parting tele-links.
Amjad Rafeeq then stated: “None of this has come from state-appointed and officially recognized scholarship.”
What does state-appointed mean here? Explain it plainly. Does he mean that the Shaykh is not from the Lajnah Daimah? Then is Shaykh Abd al-Muhsin al-Abbad (May Allah Preserve Him)from the Lajnah Daimah?
This is a deliberate attempt to cast doubt upon the scholarly standing of Shaykh Abdullah al-Bukhari and to portray him as though he is not an officially recognized scholar.
Is anyone with even a trace of intellect expected to accept that major scholars such as Shaykh Ṣaliḥ al-Fawzan , the Mufti Shaykh Abd al-Aziz , Shaykh Abd al-Muḥsin al-Abbad , and Shaykh Ṣaliḥ al-Luḥaydan all know and understand that these are matters of ijthihad —yet Shaykh al-Allamah Dr. Abdullah al-Bukhari supposedly does not?
What kind of deception is this? Who exactly is he trying to fool?
What is this man really attempting to establish other than sowing doubt about a scholar while hiding behind vague language and insinuation? Miskeen.
Where are you now, O Duʿat? Do you still pretend not to see this? Or has silence become your chosen refuge? Allahul-Mustaan.
By Allah, it is insufficient to parrot the hollow claim, “These matters should be referred to the major scholars, among them Shaykh Abdullah Al-Bukhari,” while remaining silent as he is undermined, misrepresented, and attacked. Either defend him openly and declare yourselves free from what Amjad Rafeeq is writing against the scholars, or stop deceiving the people with empty words.
I expect those among you @anwarphilly@IbnAkhdar@Mustafa_George@hikmahpubs@AbuHakeemBilal@AbuIdrees@Abdulilah_UK@uwaysT@abdurazzaaq@DusDawah@RahaBatts to respond publicly and guide the people to the truth. If my understanding is wrong, then correct me clearly and openly. But if you choose silence while continuing to shield this man despite his falsehoods and repeated attacks against the scholars , then fear Allah —because at this point, silence is not neutrality; it is complicity and an open stance against the truth.
