For both my precious company and current company, I had/have engineering in India. And let me tell you every month making the payroll to my employees makes my BP shoot up.

Also, any engineer would tell you that a MacBook is preferred machine for SW engineer. By imposing a heavy duty on MacBook, these IAS fuckers are imposing a Productivity Tax on Indian professionals. In my previous company, many times it took us over 30 days to ship a MacBook from Bangalore to other cities in India.

Then plight of my employees. They are doing cutting edge AI work but because of a fucked up company registration system and salary related issues, the payslips don't work if employee needs a loan.

Your point is right. Indian founders or Indian Immigrant founders need to focus on Product (not food delivery app). But the corrupt IAS are in the way.

Kejriwal is largely responsible for AAP’s Delhi debacle. A party formed for alternative politics which was supposed to be transparent, accountable & democratic was quickly transformed by Arvind into a supremo dominated, non transparent & corrupt party which didn’t pursue a Lokpal & removed its own Lokpal.
He built a 45 Cr sheesh mahal for himself & began travelling in luxury cars.
He binned 33 detailed Policy reports of expert committees set up by AAP, saying that the party will adopt expedient policies when the time comes.
He felt that politics could be done by bluster & propaganda.

DeepSeek (Chinese AI co) making it look easy today with an open weights release of a frontier-grade LLM trained on a joke of a budget (2048 GPUs for 2 months, $6M).

For reference, this level of capability is supposed to require clusters of closer to 16K GPUs, the ones being brought up today are more around 100K GPUs. E.g. Llama 3 405B used 30.8M GPU-hours, while DeepSeek-V3 looks to be a stronger model at only 2.8M GPU-hours (~11X less compute). If the model also passes vibe checks (e.g. LLM arena rankings are ongoing, my few quick tests went well so far) it will be a highly impressive display of research and engineering under resource constraints.

Does this mean you don't need large GPU clusters for frontier LLMs? No but you have to ensure that you're not wasteful with what you have, and this looks like a nice demonstration that there's still a lot to get through with both data and algorithms.
