@ragandboneshop Tchaiky had epochal ability. However one values it (I'm not a fan), his ass was a unicorn. I don't have beef with Rieu, just with inflating what he does. He's good at excerpting digestible hits for concert and giving it Disney gloss. That's fine, but there's more to art and life.
@thomaesplendor@RedMaistre If you would not love God to the point of having faith He would never damn anyone for His glory, you are already imposing on Him, nor do you understand His glory. But He'll get you there eventually, I'm sure ❤️
@agostino_harry@creabuntur@JosephBenJ2@HannibalLecturn As some sort of "rule of thumb" I understand you. It's a powerful drive to be treated with care, and taking pains to avoid the negative potential is actualized is important. But no excuse for a rule that only one high end is permitted that damages potential by excluding others.
@agostino_harry@creabuntur@JosephBenJ2@HannibalLecturn I see. I guess my view is that sex doesn't need redemption as there's no basis for seeing it as an ill. That it has potential both for bad and good doesn't justify arbitrarily fixing its purpose to a single of the many high ends it can serve. It actually hampers "redemption".
@agostino_harry@creabuntur@JosephBenJ2@HannibalLecturn Oh hey sorry, was just replying to the last few tweets. If you agree that God's purpose with anything is in realizing its maximum capacity to realize the Good in whatever situation, the question simply remains what that good is. I argue sex can fulfil other high ends than kids.
@creabuntur@JosephBenJ2@HannibalLecturn@agostino_harry God's intention is always for highest use/function. The idea that every belt intrinsically comes with a fixed end of holding pants up such that it would be disordered if a belt was employed in a higher use that frustrates that end is a fallacy without epistemic basis.
@creabuntur@JosephBenJ2@HannibalLecturn@agostino_harry Ya'll are misunderstanding me. I'm saying purpose and highest use/function in realization of the Good are identical, and highest use is dependent on innate capacities and situation combined. There's no God-intended use/function separate from morally highest use/function, since
@JandersonDalat@premavardhanam No, if you with an open heart pray for God to show you how really to approach the Bible and how to understand and get closer to His truth and act accordingly, he will show you what the Bible really is for (and not for, like literalistically being mined line-for-line).
@software_dad@JandersonDalat@premavardhanam Because ends depend on how the nature of an entitity best actualizes the Good taking the entirety of its situation into account. Hence the belt and tooth examples, to show variation. A belt's end is not always holding pants up. 😝 You're sure right about the rabbit hole though 😁
@software_dad@JandersonDalat@premavardhanam You missed my point entirely. It's that from a deeper understanding of natural law, claiming all sex organs are solely purposed for reproduction makes the basic error of failing to see that different objects of the same class can have different ends depending on situation,
@JandersonDalat@premavardhanam I actually think it's the opposite, friend. There's no epistemic basis for a literalist approach to scripture beyond wishful thinking. Try to pray over whether it's not your own heart that wants to be able to take scripture that way, and whether that obscure God's real truths ❤️
@JandersonDalat@premavardhanam Creator's, always. My posts were about what He says and how we can see that. Are you referring to the Bible? I just think it's pretty obvious to anyone who listens with a humble and open heart that the truths of God aren't found line-to-line in scripture, but through the Spirit.
@JandersonDalat@premavardhanam Different, so purposes become different. The idea that you can rigidly look at a category of things, and derive what specific purpose all of them have in every thinkable situation from their usual, most-intuitive function, then call any other function disordered/evil is wrong.
@JandersonDalat@premavardhanam particular belt's "highest use" is stopping blood flow, that's its purpose in that situation. Things' purposes change depending on situation. It's not disordered to use a belt for that if need be. It'd be disordered not to. And same goes for same sex Attraction: Situation is
@premavardhanam Doesn't, of course. But then again, same sex attraction isn't disordered as a rule, their understanding of teleology just sucks 😝 The attempt to ascribe teloi wholesale to entire genera based on arbitrary vibes ("all eros is for babies, because muh") is basic af. Teloi arise ...

@premavardhanam Ordered use of teeth in that situation (unless wider context rules out). Real question is what the truly universal axioms of the Good are. And Catholics need LOTS of work before claiming axiomatic status for "eros is for babies through X types of het sex only". It's just silly 😁
@premavardhanam Uniquely individually, from how the nature of something in concord with everything in its situated context best realizes the Good. Not rigidly according to over-universalized vibes. The telos of your teeth can be to cut a rope, if you're tied to a railroad track. Perfectly ...
