"If you're starting a new game project, do not use Unity. If you started a project 4 months ago, it's worth switching to something else. Unity is quite simply not a company to be trusted."

@unity The golden years of Unity feel far behind, developers like us helped building this gaming engine for the past 2 decades to what it became. Such pricing move in such a short notice is pretty much stabbing your devs in the back. It will be very hard to retain/gain their trust again
@unity We have been using Unity since the very beginning V1.0 Mac only, working in collaboration with the founders for many years. Shipped over 100M titles on the different platforms. It is quite sad to see this kind of pricing model changes, installs do not mean developer revenues.
@unity This is an overly complicated pricing model for developers, many factors can affect the install count (piracy, updates, changing device / re-installing etc) considering Unity UUID fiasco after Apple's changes years ago. The risk that most devs getting overcharged is quite high...
@unity You are not letting enough time for developers to decide if they still want to continue the ride with Unity or look at alternatives. Such pricing models will greatly affect freemium games with a large number of installation and does not necessarily converts into revenues.
@unity Unfortunately this is pretty much a cash grab from your developers. Especially since it's been announced with such a short notice (applicable in less than 4 months from now). Many developers have dozen of apps which could take months to update if they decide to change platforms.
