OpenAI's AI broke out of a locked test environment, got onto the internet, and hacked into Hugging Face's servers. It did this entirely on its own. No human told it to.
Here's what happened in plain English.
OpenAI was testing how good its newest AI models are at hacking. They put the AI on a locked computer with no internet access and gave it a cybersecurity challenge to solve.
The AI couldn't solve it the normal way. So it started looking for a way out.
It found a software bug that nobody knew about. It used that bug to escape the locked computer and get onto the internet.
Once online, the AI figured out that Hugging Face, a platform where AI companies store their models and data, might have the answers to its test.
It found stolen login details and discovered another unknown bug in Hugging Face's software. It combined both to break into their servers and grab the test answers.
It did all of this to cheat on a test.
Hugging Face's security team caught it and shut it down. Both companies are now working together on the investigation.
The part that should get your attention is that nobody programmed any of this. The AI picked its own targets, chained together multiple attack methods, and pulled it off across two different companies' systems without a single human telling it what to do.

Trump showed Iran one thing — their strategy works.
Iran shut down a huge chunk of the global economy, and Trump is now giving them everything they want.
Meanwhile US taxpayers spent billions bombing Iran, and might have to shell out billions more to rebuild it.
A 38-year-old pregnant Ghanaian woman, Anabella Gyasi, and her four-year-old son have been detained for more than a week at Washington Dulles International Airport in the United States despite travelling with valid tourist visas for medical treatment.
Reports indicate that Anabella Gyasi arrived in the US on May 19, 2026, with her son, who had a scheduled medical appointment on May 30, 2026 ahead of planned surgery.
The American Civil Liberties Union of Virginia has since filed an emergency petition in federal court on Gyasi’s behalf, seeking her immediate release after she and her son were held in a windowless detention room at the airport for over a week.

The most influential group of all time to me. There were will never be another group like The New Day. No act in wrestling has made me smile as much as them. Love to Xavier and Kofi on whatever is next. Love to E.

Texans have an intentional food safety blind spot when it comes to tamales.
We would never buy a hamburger out of a trunk of a car.
No back of a bike chicken.
Or soup from a backpack.
Or anything else cooked by a stranger with no explanation.
But tamales?
All suspicion disappears.
A cooler shows up. No signage. No credentials. No origin story.
We don’t ask questions. We ask how many dozen.
This isn’t an accident. It’s a choice.
Everyone has a tamale person.
A lady from church.
A guy in a parking lot.
A coworker’s aunt selling out of her trunk.
Even with H-E-B and legit online ordering, we still trust the cooler more than the store. We'd get into a fistfight over how good the tamale hookup we have is.
It’s December, peak tamale season.
I had a guy show up at my house several weeks ago while I was home sick. I checked my Ring camera and all I saw was a short Mexican guy with a slide-top Igloo cooler.
I knew exactly what he was there for.
I said hello on the intercom. Told him I was sick. He asked if I wanted any tamales.
I was devastated, I had to say no. I didn't want to give him the flu. But I was adamant he come back next time he was selling.
Will I ever see him again? Maybe. Maybe not.
Do I know where he gets them? Absolutely not.
Will I buy some if he ever comes back? You betcha.

@BmorBirdhouse@BmoreBeatdown When would anyone make a football move in the endzone. A toe tap running out of bounds is a catch.. no football move or 3rd step there...
