दिल्ली पुलिस के अफसर आज डरे सहमे नहीं होंगे, बल्कि शर्मिंदा होंगे कि इसी दिन के लिए वर्दी पहनी थी कि हत्या के प्रयास के आरोपी को एक फोन पर छोड़ देंगे? ऐसा भी क्या है दिल्ली में? जिस शहर में घंटों जाम में रहना पड़ता है, उस शहर में अफसरी करने का यही सुख रह गया है कि कोई सर फोड़ने की बात कैमरे पर कर रहा है, पुलिस FIR और गिरफ़्तारी तक नहीं कर पा रही है। दिल्ली पुलिस के बड़े अफ़सरों को ख़राब लग रहा होगा? अगर शर्मिंदगी भी महसूस हो रही है तो वह भी बड़ी बात है। बाकी किसी कमज़ोर को पकड़ कर, किसी को उठाकर थाने में बंद करने के लिए IPS होने की ज़रूरत नहीं है। वह काम तो स्वतंत्र भारद्वाज बिना UPSC की परीक्षा में बैठे ही कर रहा है।
