@elonmusk Dear Elon. I am your big fan because my background in physics. But you are now trying to enter India by poking our sovereignty. We are an old civilization and know how to tackle outsiders. Stay away from our internal matters. May God bless India and Make India great again (MIGA).
@LtGenDPPandey Zero on IQ and high on drama. While world is dancing on Nobel Prize, AI, quantum and semicoductor, these educated youths are dancing on cheap politics. Sad but true.
My salute to the Indian pilot Captain Smit Machchhar for his extraordinary bravery.
Despite being stabbed and seriously injured, he fought back, resisted, opened the cockpit door, and enabled passengers and crew to overpower the attacker — preventing a catastrophic mid-air disaster.
He saved the lives of 174 people, including Israeli citizens and other nationals.
I wish Captain Machchhar a speedy and full recovery.
He is a true hero.
@rishibagree So, he is telling the world that he is merely a zookeeper who feeds and controls the wild and dangerous creatures that otherwise roam freely. He wants the world to cheer for him for this job.
@TheBahubali_IND Well done, Sir. These people do not understand education. Talk to a teacher respectfully. This uncouth person should know that he has no place in any school.
"the most powerful reason to elect a Congress government to power in Delhi is to restore sanity and sumptuousness and civilized eating to state banquets. This joyless Hindutva mob will be the death of Indian culture."
Mahatma Gandhi, father of the nation, was a staunch advocate of vegetarianism and ahimsa. I did not know he was "Hindutva mob" as Tunku Varadarajan characterizes.
As for the idea that serving meat and alcohol is the only "civilized eating": in America and in Europe, many thoughtful people would consider vegetarianism and ahimsa as a major contribution of Dharmic civilisation. Jainism is entirely devoted to it and so is ISKCON. They are not "Hindutva mobs".
Thirukkural has an entire chapter on not eating meat and that was over 2000 years ago.
And most Hindus do not eat meat during festive occasions, like Ganesh Chaturthi today, even those who normally eat meat.
If Varadarajan had a shred of respect for his own heritage, rather than shamlessly parading his arrogant ignorance, he would have researched all this. Instead he chooses to lecture the little brown natives to please his imagined "civilized" masters.
Finally, if Indians were to adopt the standard American diet, we do not have the land, we do not have the water, and we do not have the energy, to feed ourselves.
@SubramanianKri@arvindsubraman Brilliant response, one that identifies the underlying weak arguments. When the economic experts ignore hard data and cook noneconomic arguments the entire article looks manufactured.
