@aiboc_in Employees deserve the work-life balance that a 5-day week brings; let's implement 5-day banking today without further excuses. #5DayBankingNow#AIBOC@PMOIndia
The commitment for a 5-day banking week should be fulfilled now, as every delay impacts the morale and well-being of bank staff. #5DayBankingNow#AIBOC@PMOIndia https://t.co/3e8oQCxQXF
Bankers keep India connected 24×7.
But behind every transaction, target and deadline is a human being, with a family, responsibilities and a life beyond the branch.
A 5-day week was agreed in March 2024, with bankers accepting longer working hours from Monday to Friday.
The demand is reasonable. The commitment is proven. The delay is difficult to justify.
Implement 5-Day Banking now.

@aiboc_in The 5-day banking week will improve the quality of life for bank employees; it’s a commitment that needs to be honored. #5DayBankingNow#AIBOC@PMOIndia
The agitation for 5-day banking is a result of the lack of positive responses from both IBA and DFS; it’s high time for action. #5DayBankingNow#AIBOC@PMOIndia https://t.co/3e8oQCxQXF

Ensuring equitable treatment for all staff makes a sound PLI scheme, and the current inequality sever us from that goal. #5DayWeekandFairPLI#AIBOC@PMOIndia https://t.co/fA4rxdlx2a
An agreement must be honoured. A reward system must be fair.
#5DayWeekandFairPLI
The 5 Day Work Week for bank employees was agreed in the Bipartite Settlement of March 2024. Its implementation cannot remain pending indefinitely.
At the same time, a unilateral and discriminatory PLI framework that divides the workforce must give way to a fair, transparent and inclusive system for all employees.
Every achievement of our banks is the outcome of collective effort.
Recognition too must reflect that collective contribution.
We seek no privilege, only implementation of an agreed commitment, equality in reward and dignity at work.
@PMOIndia
Effectuating a 5-day banking week aligns with contemporary work standards, affirming dignity in labor. #5DayWeekandFairPLI#AIBOC@PMOIndia https://t.co/fffTCcBUYz
India’s Bank employees seek two things rooted in fairness and dignity at work.
#5DayWeekandFairPLI
The demand for a 5 Day Work Week in banks is not new. It already stands agreed upon in the Bipartite Settlement of March 2024. What remains is its long-pending implementation.
At the same time, the unilateral and discriminatory PLI system must be abolished and replaced with a fair, transparent and inclusive framework for all employees, recognising the collective effort behind every institution’s performance.
Hardworking bank employees are not asking for privilege. They are asking for implementation of an agreement and equality in reward.
A motivated banking workforce strengthens Indian banking and the nation.
@PMOIndia
What value does an agreed Industrial Understanding hold if its implementation can remain indefinitely pending ??
Will this structure of recognition not divide the workforce??
We don’t want favours. We want fair, transparent & equitable PLI for all.
#5DayWeekandFairPLI@PMOIndia
Bank employees deserve 5 Days Banking and a Fair & Equal PLI system.
We reject discrimination and demand justice for every employee who contributes to the Bank’s growth.
Equal Work, Equal Respect, Equal Reward.

5-Day Banking is NOT a demand for “one more holiday.”
That narrative completely ignores how modern banking actually functions.
Bankers are at the frontline of:
🏦 Financial inclusion
🏠 Housing & retail credit
🏭 MSME financing
🌾 Agricultural credit
💻 Digital banking
🇮🇳 Government-sponsored schemes
📊 Economic development
🤝 Customer service
The proposed 5-Day Banking arrangement itself envisages adjustment of working hours on the remaining five working days.
Technology has transformed banking. Customer access today extends far beyond physical branch counters through ATMs, mobile banking, internet banking, UPI and other digital channels.
What bankers are demanding is a modern, efficient and humane working system.
Reasonable working conditions do not weaken productivity. A motivated and adequately rested workforce strengthens institutions.
Bankers serve the nation with commitment.
Now honour the commitment made to bankers.
✊ Implement 5-Day Banking without further delay.
