@Gruodis80 This is absolutely against Sikhism. Sikhism teaches to treat every human being equally irrespective of their religion, race , gender, caste etc. and always stand up for what is morally right and oppose injustice even if it is committed by people claiming to be Sikh.
@arshpath@NkWarraich British Transition: The Sikh Empire held the city until 1849, when the British annexed the Punjab after the Second Anglo-Sikh War, inheriting this boundary
@arshpath@NkWarraich Administration: Ranjit Singh appointed Khushal Singh Jamadar as the new governor of Peshawar to manage the province.
Border Stabilization: The region continued to be a flashpoint, but Nalwa's fear-inducing reputation maintained a strategic, albeit uneasy, hold over the area.
@arshpath@NkWarraich google search is indeed helpful:
Key Developments After Nalwa (1837–1849):
Immediate Aftermath: Following the Battle of Jamrud, the Afghans (under Dost Mohammad Khan) failed to capture Peshawar, retreating to Kabul after receiving news of reinforcement arrivals from Lahore.
@arshpath@NkWarraich I think you need a history lesson. It was the army of Gujjaranwala Punjab born Ranjit Singh who permanently stopped the invasions from Afghanistan and established the present border between Afghanistan and Pakistan ( or pre partition India)
@ManmohitSandhu@Kouladityakoul@theprayagtiwari Sikh (literally meaning a learner) is any person who believes in one supreme being which is formless and present in everybody and everything in universe. A Sikh also follows the teachings of Guru Granth Sahib which includes teachings of Sikh gurus, Bhagats.
@Roopgrewal2303 We as Sikhs have increasingly become focused on showing only the outwards respect to Guru Granth Sahib Ji while making ZERO effort to understand the meaning of Gurbani and following the teachings of Gurbani. We focus entirely on rituals in the name of religion.
@ambkcsingh These kind of meaningless celebrations/rituals have no place in Sikhism. It would have been so much better if this money and effort was spent on teaching the meaning of the Gurbani teachings to the people
@HarmeenSoch All these fireworks and decorations are against the very essence of teaching of Gurbani. If we really care about Sikhi , Sikh institutions like gurudwaras SGPC should spend money on making people understand the meanings of Gurbani not indulge in meaningless rituals.
