EWOR Fellow @MoisesBarberaR and EWOR's own Philipp are both professional magicians. They each spent years learning that the gap between what people see and what is actually happening is where the mastery lives.

At 13, Moises performed his first magic show in front of 500 people. By 18, he closed the main gala at Europe's largest theatre festival in front of 8,000.

He won the Spanish National Championship of Magic and performed over 250 shows across 3 continents before pivoting into physics, working at CERN on dark matter detection and in China on self-driving cars. He is now building @CLAROsurgical, the physical AI infrastructure for the operating room.

At 15, Philipp's first job was performing close up magic in restaurants in his hometown of Dresden. Since then, he’s performed for 100,000+ spectators across 4 continents. He’s now building EWOR's global partnerships network.

Magic is a contract: the magician earns the trick, the audience chooses to believe. Pre-seed investing follows the same logic, except the belief runs both ways.

.@ravitchad just signed a $5M contract with the US government and won Gold at the @EdisonAwards. What you don't see is what it took to get there.

Jobless and bootstrapped, Ravi was cold-calling hundreds of driving schools and getting nowhere. Then a SEK 3M grant landed on his desk. Accepting it would have permanently blocked him from selling to his most important future customers. He said no despite being out of money. It turned out to be one of the best decisions he ever made in hindsight.

Months later, while visiting his sister in the US, he drove three hours to DMV headquarters in Richmond, Virgina, for a meeting that got rescheduled ten minutes before he arrived. He walked in anyway and waited 6 hours in the car park until they could fit him in.

That 30-minute meeting became a $300,000 pilot, a 2-year partnership, a $5M contract, and 27 states in the pipeline.
