Two people — just ✌️ — own more wealth today than the bottom 40% of American society. No one can tell me from a moral perspective or from an economic perspective that it makes any sense at all that so few have so much while so many have so little.
So Federal Labor want to force people to live on $46 a day and then pass tax cuts that will see Federal MPs get $9000 a year, while a bunch of them are using public travel allowances to pay off mortgages on second homes in Canberra. Wonder why people don't like politicians!
Did Republicans go on and on about ‘fiscal responsibility’ when they handed billionaires a trillion-dollar tax cut? Noooo — but when government does something that helps working families, they squawk endlessly. Give me a break.
@MikeCarlton01@Qantas Worthless. Saved my points for family overseas holiday. My dad unexpectedly passed away. Qantas? Can I come home on earlier flight Ans: No way mate it’s on your FF. Ok bought $$ ticket back & sat beside many empty seats all the way back. Avoid Qantas. Lots better and cheaper too.
On this day in 1953, the US and Britain orchestrated a brutal coup that deposed Mohammad Mosaddegh, the popular Prime Minister of Iran, beloved for his progressive and pro-worker reforms, because he sought to restore national control over the country's oil reserves.
A simple change to update the definition of “fuel efficient” vehicles in the Luxury Car Tax would make EVs more competitive & increase supply into Aus.
I’ve written to @JEChalmers how it’ll increase tax revenue by ~$411 million over fwd estimates period: https://t.co/4oGApucnu4
@JasonClareMP Nice. Please add HECS FREE courses for Nurses, Teachers, Paramedics, Child Carers. We need them, we don’t pay them what they deserve, we moan about the consequential shortages and impact on essential services. Pay them more. Create more free spots for our kids. Its a no-brainer.
We Aussies will embrace EVs with gusto. We gotta get out of the clutches of the corrupt petro cartels. + EV cars, vans, utes, trucks recharged by cheaper renewables have a public health benefit: no more particulate pollution in our great towns & cities. Thanks teals& @Bowenchris
It's now law that big corporations pay a minimum 15% tax on the profits they report to their shareholders, instead of getting away with paying zero dollars in federal income taxes.
@BigTedd01@SenatorDodson You’re right. We shouldn’t combine it. It was just really saying where I wanted to get to ultimately. I respect the queen and think we should let her serve out her reign and then consider the options for head of state then.
The gas industry lobby group APPEA have put some ads on social media boasting about how much tax and royalties the gas industry pay.
Here's what they don't tell you.
Climate & Energy Principal Advisor @MarkOgge explains. #auspol
@JasonClareMP Why do governments and business always rush to the skilled migration option to solve homemade skill shortages rather than fixing the cause. How about start by eliminating HECS fees for teaching students for a start, and some decent pay rise for experienced teachers too.
@NickFeik We know politicians lie. We’re not surprised when they do. So please ALP just ban all new coal/gas projects. We won’t be surprised at the at the lie and we won’t care or be disappointed either. We will all be so much better off though.
