to be made according to. Ive also come to learn that the materials used is based on the lower cost associated with commonly found materials, much less in the way of products specifically manufactured to resist change and wear, than those (/2) #S1W17#be904#be904_5#be904_5_1
i learnt that understanding specific context is
about perceiving intelligently the subtle effects of geography, society and culture in any one
particular place. Its about a place originality and its specific conditions a building is needed (/1) #S1W17#be904#be904_5#be904_5_1
All in all i do appreciate this sweet and short lecture and it made me realise the importance of how the continuity of history is important (/end) #s1w15#be904#be904_5#be904_5_2
This lecture was rather short however i did manage to get an understanding of the short yet confusing video, had to watch it twice lol. Anyways not sure if i was overthinking too much for question 1 lol thought about y tweet over dinner (/1) #s1w15#be904#be904_5#be904_5_2
that into our design, we are continuing our history and not neglecting it and therefore knowing what the meaning of context is important to aid us in understanding architecture in the past and across the globe to overall enhance our work(/end) #s1w15#be904#be904_5#be904_5_1
was the past's context. Today's lesson is about Contemporary Tropical houses and it is to show a continuity of history in modern architecture rater than neglecting it. So taking the past's context which is relevant to today's and including (/5)#s1w15#be904#be904_5#be904_5_1
is different from the past as it is about the context existing during that timeframe. For example people in the past were poorer in singapore and were colonised by the british, hence it affected the way architecture was being built and this (/4) #s1w15#be904#be904_5#be904_5_1
and economy and so on.. From what i can understand these are the contexts, in other words, circumstances that affect the way architecture is projected. And i mentioned earlier about timeline and it is obvious how architecture in the present(/3) #s1w15#be904#be904_5#be904_5_1
From what i understand (not sure if its right) context affects how architecture is built. Not only in different countries, but different timelines. What is built in singapore will look different from what is built in europe due to the climate(/2) #s1w15#be904#be904_5#be904_5_1
Today i learnt the meaning and importance of context. Context, or should i say specific context is the tiny details that make something different from another. When talking about context we should consider the projects specific context (/1) #s1w15#be904#be904_5#be904_5_1
and i personally feel like Mr Chan couldve created more openings but idk maybe thats what he wants for his home a more private one ig, afterall it depends on waht the client wants right.(/end)#be904#s1w14_5_exit
the walls kind of like separating the spaces. All in all the house gives a comfortable vibe and i do look forward into anticipating some of the methods used in this house in my future designs. However one down side is that the house lacks natural lighting(/11)#be904#s1w14_5_exit
that specific space. Mr Chan also had a good taste in lighting by using a warm light to create a warm comfortable atmosphere and idk if its his intention but he made it such that it marks each different space like a zone, like the lights are placed along(/10) #be904#s1w14_5_exit
