The "Goddess of Pop" herself, Cher, spilled some major truth on the Howard Stern Show about why she thinks Richie was the backbone of the band.
"I think he was responsible for the sound," Cher told Howard. "That harmony above Johnny... Richie was like, a brilliant singer! And that's why Johnny wouldn't let him sing onstage."
Even with time, the respect is still there: "Yeah, of course, I still love Richie," she added. 👑

Hey guys i wanna thank you for yout support. The stuff people that are negatively commenting on are not coming from me. The impact , hard work And songs that moved the planet, i coulnt have more gratitude for the opportunity to be a part of.
