The startup world is addicted to planning.
Roadmaps, pitch decks, growth forecasts — we hide behind strategy because strategy doesn’t fail.
Execution does.
But here’s the naked truth: You cannot think your way into clarity.
Two years ago, I was the CEO of a funded startup.
We raised money, hired fast, got a bigger office, and pushed for scale.
But growth hides a lot — until it doesn't.
Eventually, we shut down.
Since then, I've rebuilt my life from scratch. No safety net. No applause. Just grit.
I have once not “focused on MVP”. Here are the DO's:
Start simple—don’t overcomplicate.
Test early—validate your idea.
Iterate quickly—improve as you go.
Keep costs low—reduce financial risk.
It’s a game-changer for startups.
Instead of waiting for the "perfect" business idea, just start with what you know.
Apply your expertise to other people's problems and you've got your first offer.
When I started my first business, Paylend, I was obsessed with numbers. I tracked users and transactions meticulously, thinking they were the key indicators of success. But I later realized these were just vanity metrics.
Hello @WilliamsRuto,
Look for an individual who can properly spread the ICT gospel throughout govt.
Eliud Owalo speaks about tech in a more ignorant way than your next door sukari nguru hawker.
As a Computer Scientist, his presence at the Ministry doesn’t inspire me and other tech community members.
Why is the FIFA Women's World Cup not trending? How many women have you seen tweet/post about it? Are they having conversations about it, in salons, churches or work places? Are they even tuning in to watch it on TV?
Why are women who complain at every opportunity given about how women's sport particularly women's football is heavily undermined not showing their support in full force? See, how the crying about gender wage gap/unequal pay in sports is stupid?
Women outnumber men, if they were to buy tickets & tune in to watch the matches, surely revenue would be high. Advertisers would line up in numbers. And in return women would get paid huge sums
It just exposes how majority of women themselves aren't interested in women's sports, much like the way men aren't interested in male modelling competitions
Where are those so called SOCCER CHICKS, you know the ones who call themselves stupid names e.g "Man Utd Bae, Liverpool Princess, Chelsea Chick, Babes we City"
Some will even promise to post their nudes during men's football. On some "If bla bla lose I'm going to drop my nudes..." sexualizing themselves at no one's request. Because they're not really football fans, it's just a means to get men's attention
But of course, admitting this truth is hard, when the simple thing is blame men for the dire state of women's sports. Learn OR perish!!!

It was a great honor to be part of the NODO grants initiative. Apart from receiving the $1000 grant, the biggest win was being part of a community that's focused on building and delivering technology that drives social & economic impact to Africa. A big appreciation to @NODO 1/2
