Why it's important to remind yourself where you came from:

If you start with zero and find a dollar on the ground you’ve had an infinite gain (you started with zero)

If you find another dollar, then you have 2 dollars, you’ve had 100% gain

Find another dollar, then you’ve had a 50% gain

Find another, then a 33% gain

As the pattern continues, the gains become smaller and almost insignificant

Point is, if we forget where we started, eventually the gains become so small, it loses meaning

When you lose meaning, you lost intention, the reason you started in the first place
