I love living in Texas, but
moving here from mostly unchristian, unchurched Portland, Oregon was a culture shift in different ways. This book has helped me better understand the cultural Christianity that is so common here.
I just read "To Gaze Upon God" by Samuel Parkinson and "Light Unapproachable" by Ronni Kurtz back to back. Both were profound and reading them brought me to a deeper love for God.
Thank you @samuel_parkison and @RonniKurtz
@TracesofTexas I dig the aversion to crowded spaces, but our H-E-B never feels as crowded as supermarkets in other parts of the country. Must be the people.
Hey friends, these two are some of my best friends in the world. Long story short: they cant have children of their own & are pursuing embryo adoption. That isnt a cheap process so theyre trying to fundraise. These two are gospel-centered and love Christ.

This morning I finished "The Explicit Gospel" by Matt Chandler and Jared Wilson.
It touched me deeply as it reminded me of the glory and grace of the Gospel.
It is deeply theological and very practical, and I highly recommend it.
I found a copy of "The Soul of Baseball" by Joe Posnanski in a used bookstore and hoped that reading about the great Buck O'Neil would help me. It did.
I'm looking forward to Spring Training.
I've loved baseball for nearly as long as I can remember. This past season I was very discouraged. The rule changes (I'll always hate the DH) caused me to watch less. It was a sad time.
