The devil always sends errors into the world in pairs--pairs of opposites. And he always encourages us to spend a lot of time thinking which is the worse. You see why, of course? He relies on your extra dislike of the one error to draw you gradually into the opposite one. CSLewis
@ImKingGinger I agree 100%. He needs to be made the showrunner for life and told he's not allowed to quit. He understands this show and its characters at a level no one else does.
@spectator Most of these suggestions are terrible and have nothing to do with what ruined the show. In fact, most of these suggestions run completely counter to what made the best of New Who great. This reads more like a series of suggestions aimed subtly but squarely at Moffat.
@bartbarber Why not just change the "closely identifies with language" and amend the bf&m to more accurately reflect the issues that we want to define cooperation over?
@marcminter I can think of an obvious alternative. Change the language in article 3, 1.1. from 'closely identifies with" to "is not in contradiction to ".
That's the real solution.
This nugget has stuck with me for years and I've seen it displayed in beauty and ugliness. 👇
'You know you're growing in grace when you ask your church's leaders, "What needs are there in our church, and where do you need me the most?" instead of demanding, "These are my gifts and talents, and this is how I would prefer to use them.”' @JeffreyPWiesner
@SWmoff@BarbaraYetaxa Well, I think it's a great example of your version of Doctor Who. It may not be a traditional episode but it does a great job of tapping into the heart of what makes that show great. No one understands that show and its themes and characters like you do.
@DavidCFreeman@DennyBurk Yes the SBC gets to define the boundaries of its shared faith and practice like any other association and churches can voluntarily choose to be a part of that if they share the same faith and practice. Nothing about that robs anyone of their autonomy.
@DavidCFreeman@DennyBurk None of these things exert control over a church. The sbc is a voluntary association. The SBC can define the terms for voluntary association all it wants. That has nothing to do with church autonomy.
@CrimsonDesert_ Please add the ability to switch targets via the right stick while hard locked. This is a stable of target locking and especially important given the need to fight groups of enemies in CD. It's making the gameplay loop unbearable for me.
Ironically, Rome/EO & the happy-clappy megachurch are two sides of the same coin. One uses incense, icons, vestments, and repetitive chant. The other uses lights, loud music, and polished production. Strip it all down, and they both run on the same juice: aesthetics and atmosphere used to generate a false sense of encounter with God, and galling eisegesis. One calls it mystery, the other a “move of the Spirit.” Either way, people are carried along by something carnal & external.
The one side kisses wooden pictures and bows down to statues; the other sways to technicolor lights & music. But both deploy pragmatism & both bank on the laity not knowing their Bibles when it comes to proper worship. Both appeal to the flesh. Both are centers of pomp, glitter, & idolatry. Two sides of the same coin.
@getnickwright What's obviously weird about this is that he can literally win an award from the NBA saying he was the best player for this month yet the NBA also dropped his MVP rank in that same period. Make it make sense.
