I’ve now confirmed that this is indeed true.
Buried in the announcement of YouVersion’s “extensive review” is what appears to be new language from Broadstreet.
Rather than defending their integrity or the integrity of TPT, they simply assure people that the last 8-9 books have been done with a more rigorous process.
They also promise that the NT will be “revised” again when the full Bible is released.
We are now 15 years into the Passion Translation. Millions of copies have been sold. Lies have been told. Divine visitations have been claimed. Promises of “secrets of the Aramaic” have been liberally made.
The New Testament has already been revised TWICE (2017, 2020)
But now, after all of that, there is no buyback. No refund. No apology. No repentance.
Only the promise that “we’re working on covering it all up in the next edition.”
They will continue to fix whatever they get caught doing and move on.
The problem is they don’t know just how much is fraudulent in their “translation.”
But we do.
And we will continue our work until, Lord willing, there is repentance and restitution made.
If I die please don’t ignore my public teachings while believing rumors that I was radically changing my beliefs in secret.
I also suggest extending that same courtesy to Charlie Kirk.
What’s clear is that Kirk was a powerfully influential person and in his absence many people want to wield that influence for themselves after Charlie is no longer able to speak or correct a rumor.
Lucas here seems to be honoring the man rather than abusing his legacy.
TOP 5 REASONS FOR THE ACCUSATION OF MISREPRESENTATION:
1) Different bands of #Calvinism
2) Calvinist’s ignorance of actual historical “Calvinism”
3) True but not palatable
4) Same vocabulary but different dictionary
5) Failing to differentiate bw logical implications & beliefs
I'm thinking of trying to engage on Twitter more. Clearly it's been a minute as my pinned tweet now just shows up as "from a suspended account". Mostly it feels less scary to pose theological questions and thoughts I'm having here because who uses Twitter anyways?
When people are like "they gon microchip me to talk to the satellites," I'm like, my man: can you imagine how much people would pay for an unlimited-plan phone you never have to charge? And you think they're just gonna put it in you for free?
You don't even have insurance.
And found it hard as a believer having to choose essentially how I kill my baby, even though they wouldn't live & it would kill me. Just giving a practical example for you if it comes up again 😊 thanks for your work!
How we have loved having Tim working from home for the last week ❤️ Even though this pandemic is clearly a disaster, we were thanking God that in no other circumstance would Tim be able to spend so much of Ezra's… https://t.co/suFLwCxqTR
