Climate change is making heat waves longer and more frequent, increasing heat-related mortality.
Reminder: The climate crisis is a human rights crisis.
This Miyazaki episode of Lupin the 3rd had a huge influence on Katsuhiro Otomo -- he learned how to storyboard partly by watching it over and over again

As @UN Secretary-General, I have had the privilege of seeing the magnificent biological diversity of our planet up close.
But I have also seen how human activity is decimating it at alarming speed.
We must act urgently to put biodiversity on a path to recovery.

Art Nouveau doorways are delightful.
Like this one in Brussels, designed by Ernest Delune in 1893 for the house of a famous glass maker.
And there are plenty more just like it...
Access to food is a human right.
As the hostilities in Gaza continue to escalate - access to food is scarce with reports of children starving to death.
Humanitarian organizations must have unhindered access to people in need wherever they are.
Children are now beginning to die of starvation & dehydration in Gaza. The U.S. must immediately begin a massive humanitarian airdrop to the hardest-hit areas. And we must DEMAND that Netanyahu open the borders and let aid in at the scale necessary.
”About one in every 20 children, women and men in #Gaza are now dead or wounded.

Many Afghans are destitute, struggling to feed themselves, living without access to education, healthcare or employment.
More than half the country’s population will require aid this year, but our humanitarian response plan has received less than 3% of the funds needed.
Governments should continue funding UNRWA, given its vital role in averting a humanitarian catastrophe. It is unconscionable to consider shutting down the UN agency most able to provide lifesaving food, water, and medicine to the people of Gaza. https://t.co/N1pEHFoKj5
1. Australia is set to introduce a 'right to disconnect law', allowing workers to ignore unreasonable calls and messages from their bosses outside working hours without facing penalties.
The legislation aims to protect workers' rights and restore work-life balance.
To be able to deliver effective humanitarian aid in Gaza:
we need safety,
we need equipment,
we need more crossing points,
we need access to the north.
I call for rapid, safe, unhindered, expanded & sustained humanitarian access throughout Gaza.
The refusal to accept the two-state solution for Israelis and Palestinians, and the denial of the right to statehood for the Palestinian people, are unacceptable.
The right of the Palestinian people to build their own state must be recognized by all.
“Anyone who writes is a seeker. You look at a blank page and you’re seeking. The role is assigned to us and never removed. I think this is an unbelievable blessing.”
